About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Reconnect with nature and refresh your spirit at our charming riverfront log cabin, nestled in the serene mountains of North Carolina. With 3 cozy bedrooms—including a downstairs master suite and two spacious loft bedrooms—our cabin comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests, making it perfect for romantic getaways, small groups, or intimate family retreats.
Inside, enjoy a relaxing ambiance with a classic wood-burning furnace, central air and heat for comfort year-round, and high-speed Wi-Fi to keep you connected. The living area is stocked with books, a Smart TV with an old-school DVD player, and comfortable spaces ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the outdoors.
Step outside onto the panoramic deck overlooking your own private waterfall, an exceptional feature that provides the perfect backdrop for sipping morning coffee or stargazing at night. Enjoy the soothing sounds of cascading water, or gather around the firepit for memorable evenings roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. Relax in rocking chairs or the swinging couples' chair as you take in the peaceful, creekside atmosphere.
The cabin is perfectly positioned alongside the Reddies River, renowned locally for its stocked rainbow trout fishing—beginners and seasoned fisher alike find success here (locals recommend corn as bait!). While there are no official trails, guests love walking along the riverbank or exploring nearby gravel roads.
Our location offers easy access to notable attractions and events: grocery stores and restaurants (including our favorite local Mexican spot, Plaza Del Sol) are just 15-20 minutes away. Many guests book stays around local music festivals such as MerleFest, Brushy Mountain Apple Festival, and Carolina in the Fall Festival. You're also within easy reach of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Scott Kerr Lake, Appalachian Ski Resort (1 hour), Boone/Appalachian State University (45 minutes), Linville Caverns (1.5 hours), and Asheville's Biltmore Estate (2 hours).
We provide everything you need—including linens, towels, kitchen utensils, and a coffee machine—to ensure your stay is stress-free. Discover why guests return year after year for the ultimate getaway: relaxation, family bonding, and unforgettable connections with nature.
Note: Exterior security cameras are present on the property for added security. During winter months, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended due to potential snow and icy conditions.

Our family had an awesome time down by the river. The cabin was very clean. An excellent place to connect with nature. Will definitely go back next summer.
Loved this property! Definitely plan on going back. The river is amazing. Super private and secluded. Shared the cabin with a few harmless bugs (moths and such) because it is solidly in the forest, but they never bit or were much of a bother. Great amenities and easy directions!
Great cabin! Great peaceful, isolated location with wonderful scenery! Only negative is driveway is rough, especially since we didn’t have “mountain vehicle”.
The location is great! We were right next to the creek and got to walk along side and wade in the cool water. The inside was very nice and cozy so my friends and I were able to relax. The kitchen was very nice. Overall we had a very nice stay and would highly recommend this place! Just an fyi, the bedrooms on the upper floor don’t have doors, but they worked just fine for us.
This place is beautiful, quiet and relaxing.
The creek is next to the cabin, it’s amazing.
The cabin is great, perfect for a small family.
It’s not really clean but there are a lot of cleaning supplies and tools to clean it up.
We will definitely go back.
We loved the creek in the back of the property. Our grandkids were able to play in it everyday and swim in the swimming hole. Lots of bugs, because you are surrounded by beautiful woods. The driveway is good, but treacherous if you are coming in late at night. It truly was a beautiful location to get away from it all.
My family enjoyed this property immensely. A secluded cabin in the woods but with all the comforts of home made everyone happy. My husband enjoyed fishing in the river while the kid explored the shoreline and rock hunted. We made outdoor campfires and s’mores, and snuggled up by the indoor fireplace with books. Be aware it is a long driveway, so any plans out and about take a bit longer. The Food Lion in Millers Creek is about a 20 minute drive.
We had such an awesome week! It was everything we hoped it would be! The cabin is a good 8-10 minute drive from the road (the first gate) to the 2nd gate so take that time into consideration when venturing out because GPS doesn't factor it in. Our kids had a ball catching (and releasing) trout, creek walking, and just being lazy in the cabin. We also saw a family of wild turkey on the drive down from the house. Highly recommend and hope to enjoy this cabin again some time.
We had a wonderful time refreshing in the woods. The road in is treacherous but well maintained and the cabin is lovely. We went for numerous walks on the property, spent a cozy day inside while Hurricane Debby whipped through and went for a beautiful hike at Rendezvous Mountain State Park. We loved hearing and playing in the river and found a bunch of critters during our stay. I wish there were actual hiking trails on the property, we just walked the roads because we didn't see any but it was still a great escape and not too far from town if you need something. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!
Overall the cabin was good. The location couldn't have been better for us. Really felt tucked away and the sound of the river and small waterfall was wonderful. Lots of time spent on deck reading and listening to the water. Did catch a couple trout which we ate for dinner final night. And no cell service was actually a real blessing. Just make sure to screen shot the check in procedures and you wont have a problem. Again overall a great experience.
We had a blast. Off the beaten path is an understatement. The driveway from the main road is 1.4 miles of winding roads and plenty of signage to point to the right cabin at the end of the drive. A 4 wheel drive vehicle would be recommended! The gated entry both at the road and the cabin itself provided increased security. Great WiFi, no cell service.(Verizon). River views are breathtaking! Hands on experience with kids, not a sit and watch. Life jackets for kids are a must if they cannot swim. Some areas are deep. Overall, great experience. Clean and well maintained. We’re definitely going back!
I really enjoyed my stay here. It's in a beautiful area and the cabin is well equipped, including an adequate internet connection. I hadn't planned on working during my time there, but had a work emergency and was able to video conference without issue.
The stream nearby has some lovely pools and I caught several nice sized brown and brook trout out of it.
This is in no way a reflection on the property, but something to note if fishing is a primary reason for your visit. I am from out of state and was not aware of the significant trough fishing regulations in NC. I was not able to fish in several off-property areas I had planned to due to the time of year. If fishing is a primary reason drawing you to the area, be sure to check the regulations before booking. I would have booked at a different time had I known.
WE love your set up, however several are prettified of spiders in house, mice droppings and bug on bedspreads. The creek was awesome and the fire pit, however the multitude of insects/bugs was somewhat overwhelming. I think you are good hosts, however the cleaning is subpar for new guests and first time impression. The mice droppings were in kitchen drawers, which made a difficult comfort zone for eating.
Thank you for the stay, however we did not have a great first impression.
Sincerely,
V Scott Lamm

We really enjoyed the stay at this house. I was a little worried after reading all previous comments, but we really liked it and most likely be back! It is very isolated, quiet, you can't hear a thing but the creek and birds. Owners were very nice and reaponded quickly to all my questions.
Someone in previous comments recommended to screenshot directions, that was really helpful and the signs along the way are super easy to follow.
We walked up the creek in the water which was fun!
The house was clean enough and had everytying we needed. One thing I would recommend to have in the house is something to deal with the fire and logs in firepit. Maybe a big stick or shovel would be helpful.
A note for future visitors is that there is no firewood provided, so you have to get your own.
Overall it was a fun and nice stay. Definitely we would do it again! Thank you!
The house was nice, many cooking supplies available, soft beds, wifi works IN THE HOUSE. Do not expect to pull up the codes at the end of the driveway. You will need to turn around the way you came to get signal. I didn’t see cleaning notes or rules “everywhere” There are a few but nothing crazy. The shower is definitely small. Like don’t plan on shaving your legs unless you are young and vey flexible or stick your leg out of the shower stall. Im 5ft 5 and could put my back on one wall and touch the other. The very cool potty helps make up for it with a bidet, heated seat and tushy drier. Most hi tech toilet I’ve ever seen. The water fall was great and if you are adventurous (and athletic) you can buy some tubes off Amazon for river tubing and hang out there all day. To the right of the waterfall is a great spot to swim, but wear watershoes as you never know whats floated down. There’s a big boulder you can slide down on the tube but you have to walk up the mossy rocks on the house side, because climbing up the waterfalls almost impossible unless you attach your tow rope to the tree across the stream. If you plan in jumping in, swim the area first so you don't get hurt. Some spots are over your head and some are a few feet. The current just pulls you in a circle unless you don’t pay attention and go down stream for a ride. The drive way is 1 mile and if you’re there in winter snow will need 4WD. Not much sun gets in house. Looks like 5am when 10am.
We had a wonderful time at this riverfront cabin! The location is excellent — peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin sits in a beautiful spot right by the water, and we really enjoyed the nature walks and quiet surroundings. The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The host was very quick to respond to any questions and made the stay smooth and comfortable.Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to unwind in nature!
Love this cabin, always clean and plenty to do. Beautiful view and the creek is an absolute plus and building a fire in the fire pit. Always family time at this cabin.
