(3,498 reviews) I had a great stay overall. The trip was relaxing, enjoyable, and in a convenient location. I would rate it 79 out of 100\. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The king bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and we always had hot water. The TV had good channels. Housekeeping did not replace our towels for a few days, and we noticed tiny black bugs in the room. Not sure if that is normal, but they were noticeable. Our room location was not ideal because we could hear loud guests in the hallway late at night, which sometimes woke us up. Most staff were friendly and attentive. Service was good in most restaurants, though when busy attention dropped a bit. Food was better than expected, not amazing but not bad. BBQ night at the buffet was good. Breakfast was okay and some items seemed reheated. One restaurant was the weakest, but the sushi spot and La Piña were very good. Fresh hashbrowns were a highlight. Pools were beautiful and the beach was gorgeous even with red flags most days. The coffee spot and jacuzzi pool areas were great. Weather was windy and cooler than expected but still enjoyable. Location is convenient, next to Oxxo, with Dominos and a pharmacy across the street, about 15 minutes from the Isla Mujeres ferry and 20 minutes from the main party area. Expedia VIP felt minimal. Just a labeled section, a $75 credit not stackable, upgrade only if available which we did not get, plus early and late check we did not need. Overall a solid stay.
