The Tabacalera neighborhood has its origin in 1898 when a tobacco factory that was established near the center of the city and the surroundings began to be occupied by the workers of this factory; This is why it gets its name.
In 1898 the Plaza de la República was inaugurated and the construction of the new Legislative Palace began, an unfinished project that would later become the iconic Monument to the Revolution, where the National Museum of the Revolution is located.
In addition to the monument, there are other places of interest such as:

The neighborhood can be easily explored on foot or by bicycle and you can move around all the streets and its neighboring neighborhoods such as La Condesa, La Roma, Juárez, Centro Histórico and Cuauhtémoc.
Near the department you can find various options to get around such as the subway, the Metrobus and the Ecobicis.

The apartment was very conveniently located in Centro Histórico. We were able to walk to much we wanted to do in the area. The apartment itself was also clean and well-appointed. Communication with the host was mostly smooth. However, there was an issue our first night checking in. The host mistakenly sent us to the wrong apartment. It seems they own and rent out several in the building. We entered this other apartment with the provided key code and startled a woman staying there. It was quite late in the evening. Fortunately, we were able speak with this other guest, make our apologies, and leave. We then contacted the host and were eventually re-directed to the correct apartment.
