Not the worst/but cant recommned
Overall we liked our stay but I would not gi back. There were some problems with our room electricity and we had to move from our room to another at 10pm. Which was not pleasant. I wish we got better apology or maybe some little refund/gift for a such a big inconvinience. There was also a lot of drama over breakfast portions which I thought was just silly!

We stayed for 10 nights and had a lovely stay. The staff and owner couldn’t have been nicer! We received an upgrade to a sea view room and early Check-in and late check out. The continental breakfast consisted of; eggs, cheese, cold meats, bread, fruit, croissants, yoghurt, cereal, juices and tea and coffee-perfect to start the day. The rooms were clean and spacious with a good powerful shower, and the maid came in daily and replaced all towels. We also had snacks/ drinks round the pool and one evening we ate at the restaurant-the food was excellent :) The hotel is located a short walk from the restaurants and from the cable car, which takes you to Taormina old town for 3EURs each way, running every 15 mins till 1am!! Perfect location and relaxing stay!!

Very Frustrated with Hotels.com and this hotel
We have not visited this hotel. We were booked to stay there July 5 to 12. Due to covid 19, we could not travel and the hotel was actually fully closed during our scheduled stay. We have been trying to get a full refund for this hotel ever since through Hotels.com with no success. We have had many online chats, emails and a phone call last week and never get any resolve. We are constantly told we will hear back within 72 hours but never hear anything back. We are very frustrated with Hotels.com and this hotel who apparently never responds to their calls. We are not willing to settle for a voucher that is only good for 1 year. There is no guarantee that we can make it to Sicily within the next year from Canada. If we do get a refund, we would consider staying at this hotel in the future should we make it to Sicily.

Good place for a couple night stay
The hotel has very friendly staff. The location is a bit remote, but only a couple of minutes walk from the local services. In case you have a car, be ready for a bit challenging parking...However, very good value for the money!

We've just spent a very enjoyable week at this hotel. We read the reviews prior to staying and as a result went with a little trepidation.Some context is needed. Maybe people's expectations are more than ours. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly on reception. The views from our room (on the 5th floor) were incredible. The swimming pool was lovely. The breakfast was as expected with rolls, cakes, eggs, bacon, sausages, fresh fruit etc. You couldn't complain. Sure, the short walk to town was along the road but you can't blame the hotel for that. You needed your wits about you walking anywhere in the region! Sicilian drivers don't take prisoners. However, with all the hills and neverending steps up and down to the beaches meant we came back a lot fitter than we arrived. Just don't get me started on the local buses and timetables! Overall, a very pleasant stay.

The parking was a nightmare! The hotel is on the main highway so it was difficult to walk to the area to catch a bus to the top of the hill. The room was nice as was the breakfast and the view from the restaurant was very nice.

In the fridge - 2 bottles of water (small) + a can of soda, I asked at the reception if it is welcome, I was told that it is a full price minibar !! Breakfast - non-fresh tomatoes and no more types of vegetables, very cold fried egg !! Stinginess is evident in everything. Otherwise the shower is old-fashioned and very small..

We had a very good stay at the Bay Palace. The old town of Taormina is high above. There is a cable car that runs up and down to the town, €6 return. This can be expensive if you visit the old town a lot during your stay. However, beIng lower down its convenient for the beach. I believe there is a bus service but we didn't use that. The pool at the hotel is good. Breakfast was reasonable with a fantastic view from a table on the balcony. The hotel attracted couples and families from all over Europe. Parking, as it many towns in Sicily, is difficult to say the least. There is very limited parking on a steep hotel driveway. Most parking is on the road - again somewhat limited. In all, a good hotel for a reasonable price (for Taormina).

Bay Palace Hotel, Taormina
The hotel was very comfortable in a boutique style. The staff couldn't gave done more for us. The hotel pool is an excellent place to relax with a bar that also serves snacks and small meals. It takes between 5 and 10 minutes to walk to the cable car to get up to Taormina. The hotel is right on a main road which can be busy to walk along and first thing in the morning! However there are some great restaurants nearby in Mazzarimo which can save going up to Taormina . I would recommend the greek theatre as a visit and Taormina itself as a place of great charm and atmosphere. This is a hotel for adults I would suggest.

The hotel is a family-friendly, economic hotel that is about a 10 minute walk to the main beach and the cable car to Taormina's historical center. Taormina doesn't have sidewalks, the streets are narrow, and to me and my family the drivers seemed to be going too fast. As a result, the walk seemed a bit scary at first, as cars will go zipping past you at a close distance as you make your way down the road. We got used to it after the first day, though, and there were lots of other tourists doing the same. The hotel has a nice pool and friendly staff that always greeted us and provided help/directions whenever we needed it; the continental breakfast was adequate. The room was generally clean and had a large balcony with a stunning view of the Ionian Sea. If you want to visit Taormina on a budget, or are traveling with a family (rather than going a romantic getaway), I'd recommend this competitively-priced hotel and would stay here again when visiting Taormina in the future.

Position of the hotel is outstanding! Staff is excellent. Only problem was that they doesn't have tea/coffee and iron facilities in the room.

Good location, excellent views
I was lucky to get what is probably one of the largest rooms in the hotel. The terrace overlooking the seafront is magnificent for a summer evening! The room was set up for 4 people, 2 of which were folding beds, which was ok for just one night. The room was clean and tidy but lacks all sorts of finishing and embellishment. A reading/night light near the 2 additional beds would have been nice. The restaurant and breakfast is ok - nothing grand or sophisticated but functional. The staff were very nice and helpful. Parking just outside the hotel is very limited and very difficult to use. If using a car, you will probably park on the street, which at certain times of day, may be a very difficult feat!

Road trip stop over
We stayed here for only one night as we were en route from Sicily to Lecce. It seemed like it was the start of the season for the hotel - perhaps had not been opened for that long. It was fine - clean and tidy. It was exactly what we required for a one night stop over.

This is a run down hotel with fantastic views. I don't understand how it holds a 4 star rating. Very friendly staff and good service. This would have been a fantastic place 20 years ago. But since then, not much have happened. Location is ok but you do need a car to get around.

Comfortable hotel with stunning views
We only stayed here for two nights to visit Taormina. Our room had stunning views over the sea towards Calabria with a large balcony. It is 5 minutes walk from the cable car up to Taormina. The hotel felt it needed a refresh as the rooms were lovely but the main communal areas were not used to the best effect. A bit of creative thought on the use of the communal areas would make this a superb hotel.

We stayed for one week. Our room was cleaned daily. The hotel itself is old and. although some reviews say it should be updated the style adds character and it is spotless. This hotel has huge potential. Location is ideal for the beach. The pool is lovely and is very well maintained and has a lifeguard 5 days a week. We had lunch at the pool a few days and it was lovely. Pizza was fab, as was salad. The location is beautiful overlooking the bay, the view is amazing. Its a few minutes walk on a narrow road (typical of all coast roads in Sicily). Not suitable for people with walking difficulties as its up a steep hill to reception. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of variety. The lady with the blonde hair on reception was so helpful with travel arrangements and any other queries we had. Decent wifi is only available in the lobby which is a bit awkward if you need it. It is available at the pool but isn't as easy to connect to or isn't as reliable. You need to get a bus to Taormina which takes about 12 minutes up the steep mountain roads or the cablecar which takes just over 3 minutes, both of which you get at the main car park in Mazzaro centre a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Nice hotel, lovely Manager. We had no water or electricity the Friday all day no one advised us and weren't too helpful when we enquired. Pool location is nice. The sitting areas at the different levels bar the entrance need a wipe down from all the sand etc. The refreshments area near the pool maybe have someone there to provide drinks /snacks maybe as it wasnt busy there is no need for anyone. Otherwise it is nice be careful on the road outside hotel, traffic is chaotic.You are not far from the cable car which is €3 one way or €6 return. This brings you to Taormina town, shops, restaurants etc. Its a beautiful place. You can do alot of people watching.

great views over bay to Italy.spacious room with balcony overlooking bay and beaches.clean room,let down by old shower which works ok but doesn't look great.friendly staff and good swimming pool with café.access to town via cable car,10min.walk.bus terminal access via cable car or taxi,train access by taxi.tour buses at bus terminal for urban tours and mt.etna tours.sea is safe and clear for swimming.beaches are stony.best with car for touring as everthing is along the coast and no transport inland.two buses or trains via messina for ferries to Aeolian islands which are stunning.trains and buses are very cheap,eg.4 euros to messina,1 hour!the hotel suited us and was good for our type of short stay,ie.enroute to Panarea.hotel with breakfast was very good value.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel management and staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The room was adequate but a bit basic. We ate most evenings in the hotel. The evening menu was changed every night so a good selection of dishes. We would definitely go back again.

The restaurant menu was preset at 25Euros. The pasta was great, the meat over cooked and desert was grapes. The young lady who served us was extremely helpful and courteous. The location is across from the sea and beautiful. The owner welcoming but communication was difficult with him as we speak very little Italian. I would probably return because of the location and staff but would go out to eat dinner. Breakfast on the other hand was free and impressive.

Lovely location in Taormina
Very clean, staff extremely friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Rooms are basic but adequate with a decent size balcony. Good buffet breakfast, plenty of choice. Plastic chairs provided on balcony not very comfortable. Only negative is the driveway up to the hotel, extremely steep and narrow, very difficult to park, but parking is available on the main road outside the hotel. The walk up the main road to the restaurants in the evening is quite hairy, as there are no proper pedestrian pavements.

Great value for money
The hotel overlooks the beach and has stunning views. It has a great swimming pool which gets the sun all day - noted many of the hotels are overshadowed by the mountains. The staff are very friendly especially the owner Giovani. Breakfast is good with fresh fruit and pastries. All in all very good value for this expensive part of Italy.

Great hotel with a great view
I decided to pay more for a sea view room and boy, am I glad I did. Gorgeous view from the balcony. Nice surprise to see fireworks lit off by the water the night we stayed. Great pool and pool area and walking distance to the beach and cable car.

The whole area in this North side of Sicily is little bit lower level to compare with the East and South side. The see os plain, no hills and bays in it. The hotel is a different style with a lot of entertainment, including loud music until 11PM. The hotel staff is very nice and friendly. The breakfast is everige.

Very relaxing and and pleasant place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the views and walks on the beach. Breakfast was good and the selection of fruit was very good. Location to access the Cable car was very convenient to the hotel except difficult to walk on the road as not much space for walking .

not happy with this hotel
the room was not clean and very dirty but the view was amazing. the toilet is not working properly and unfortunately in the restaurant the food was not healthy and there were lots of flies on the food.they were going to charge us extra for no reason plus tax and I showed them the paper that I am not suppose to pay extra!!!!
