  • Enjoy access to large gourmet kitchen fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and coffee maker as well as dishes and utensils.     The main living area of the home has a great gathering area for families including an open concept kitchen, den, and a family room.

    This eclectic cottage is nestled among a mixture of hardwoods and rock outcroppings. Situated just blocks from the heart of Mentone, High Point serves as your basecamp for the endless adventures awaiting. The home is centrally located within minutes of all your outdoor excursions and sightseeing. Spend the day mountain biking at various public single-tracks on Lookout Mountain, kayak on the gorgeous Little River, hike in the renowned DeSoto State Park, rock-climb and boulder throughout Sand Rock, with a plethora of caving and hiking opportunities just minutes away. Easy self-check-in process to accommodate various arrival times.

    There is also the main house (High Point Retreat) which is rentable and located separately from the cabin(High Point Cottage)

    Great restaurants just 2 minutes to downtown Mentone include Wildflower Cafe, Mentone Market, The Hatter, and many more! Sit on the deck to enjoy the fresh mountain air and breeze or grill for your whole gathering with the propane grill provided. For year-round enjoyment and a wonderful getaway, you can’t get much better than this, you won’t be disappointed!

    If you would like to use the grill or fire pit during your stay please bring a fire-starter and wood.

Fall Getaway

Relaxing getaway. This is our favorite place to go. It’s our second time to visit this cabin. We love the coziness of the cabin. It’s perfect for the two of us. It’s not too far out of town and easy to get to. We like to build a fire in the pit at night and just relax. We love grilling and enjoying the peace and quiet that this cabin offers. There is little to no traffic in the area to bother you. It’s just perfect. We will be back again.

Lovely lodging. Everything we needed was available. Beds nice and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Enjoyed a nice campfire but the chairs available were broken and not sturdy. Those can be easily replaced. Bar stool s need repaired, one of them was loose. We had a very lovely stay. We are looking forward to return trip in a month or so to see fall foilage turning

Nice cabin in good location.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is in a great location. Convenient to Mentone but far enough away to feel secluded. (There is a larger house on the same property, though). It was nice to have a master bedroom and bath downstairs for those who may have problems with stairs, as well as having the two bedrooms, bath and sitting area upstairs for those travelling with friends or family. The cabin was very clean. We had a few maintenance issues, but they were taken care of. One tip I'd offer about the area itself. There aren't a lot of places to eat out nearby, so be prepared to cook or go for a bit of a drive. The Mentone Market really saved us as they had packaged fresh foods to go, and really wonderful freshly made pizzas. The Wildflower Cafe is also wonderful but open limited hours. The next choices are driving to Valley Head or Fort Payne.
