    The yurt is a unique and functional base for outdoor recreation in and around the bog in all 4 seasons.
    Ideal for birders wanting to explore the Sax-Zim birding area.

This was our second stay and this place is a hidden gem! Our family of 4 loves this as our home base when visiting the bog! Megan and fam are fantastic hosts and have thought of everything.

It’s was a great stay even in -6 degrees weather. It’s an off grid yurt on an amazing property. Came up for birding to get some rare species. Definitely check out the local bar and grill, some of the most friendliest people around.

So many wonderful things about our stay: the yurt itself (clever and comfy), our host (so helpful and friendly), and the local area (when they say birders are welcome, they mean it). We came up to spend the weekend for our 30th anniversary and added to our bird life list. Memorable, and very much worth a repeat stay. This yurt takes "glamping" to the next level, so if you've ever camped and loved it... we highly recommend!

Great Winter Getaway

We had a wonderful time at the yurt. The wood stove is so cozy & we loved the quiet mornings with the birds at the feeders. It’s also close to Sax Zim Bog for exploring winter boardwalk trails. I would recommend this stay!

Great Stay!

We had an amazing stay in the cozy yurt in a peaceful, wooded bog area. Megan is a great host and ensured our comfort with thoughtful touches. The beautifully designed yurt felt like home, and waking up to birds chirping in the serene surroundings was unforgettable. What an amazing place to stay! The Yurt is so charming and cozy, and has everything to make your stay perfect. The host, Megan, is a dream and provides all of the extras to make you feel at home. The Yurt was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. I felt like I was at the Yurt Ritz! It was magical listening to the night sounds - owls hooting, coyotes singing, and seeing a sky full of stars. I also saw wild turkeys and deer in the morning. I can’t wait to go back to this little retreat in the enchanted forest!

Anniversary heaven

From the moment we pulled up to the moment we left we felt at home. The property was gorgeous, the yurt was just as pictured. The amenities on site were exactly what we needed for a weekend away. I wish i could give this 6 stars. We will absolutely book again.

Sax-Zim Bog visit

We loved our stay at the Yurt. It was perfect, had everything we needed for our 2 night stay and we kept plenty warm overnight with the wood stove and electric heater. It was a bonus being so close to Sax-Zim Bog for getting to some spots before sunrise. We would stay again!

Sax-Zim Bog visit

Excellent accommodations and so close to Sax Zim Bog. The temperature hit a low of -21 or so when we were there and we stayed toasty warm in the yurt. It wasn’t even that bad going out to the heated outhouse.

Super cozy yurt

Absolutely perfect. It was -28 degrees out, and we stayed cozy warm. Location is perfect for birding at the Bog, and the hosts are so kind and helpful. I came to the yurt last year, and fell in love with it. Definitely the perfect lodging for a Sax Zim Bog trip!

First time in a yurt and despite -18 degree windchill we were toasty warm with a fire during the day and heater at night. Very clean! Huge, very comfortable bed. Able to view birds without going to Sax-Zim Bog, but we still went. Everything was well thought out with supplies and everything needed to live in the woods. We had some concern about a winter outhouse, but it was very warm with water, soap, hand sanitizer and towels inside the spacious facilities. Megan was very helpful and made our stay an incredible experience! From telling us where to find birds to letting us play with her dog, she is amazing. We WILL be back!

Awesome

We had a blast even in a short time staying at the yurt. We’ll be back to stay longer next time. Yurt has more than what you need as far as “camping”. Very relaxing and listening/seeing the wildlife within few steps from the yurt.

Writing and nature weekend

I am working on a writing project and needed quiet focus time. This was a wonderful opportunity for each of us to have some quality solo time as well as together time. He enjoyed his time in the woods and on the trail.
