  • Very private retreat in the middle of McLean, VA, 10 min, one traffic light Georgetown, K St, 5 min 495, 20 min to IAD Dulles, 15 DCA National, 5 min Tysons, 15 min Old Town Alexandria. Down a private rd near the Potomac & GW Parkway, cross a bridge & see the home, set on an acre, surrounded by around 10 acres of streamside woodlands & flood plain. Wildlife aplenty, almost rural



    I will be available 24/7, and will take care of odd tasks that need regular work, such as lawn maintenance, wood for the two fireplaces etc.

Great holiday weekend

Property was exactly as represented; wonderful view from living room. Kitchen was well stocked and property was very clean. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it highly.

We loved staying here. The property is beautiful and we did not know a place like this could exist this close to DC. Kids had a blast. Owner is very responsive.

Busy DC Days/Relaxing Nights in McLean

Perfect place to stay when visiting DC. We were about 20 minutes from downtown but felt like we were at a retreat when we were at the house. Loved sitting by the fire outside and listening/watching the wildlife. Saw all kind of birds & a buck and doe were grazing every morning. House had plenty of room for all of us. Grocery & restaurants nearby, we cooked most of our dinners at the house and had everything we needed. Cam is an excellent host and was available whenever we had any questions.

Family memories

We needed a place for 8 of us to be with our son who lives in Baltimore over the holidays. We choose this place due to being only 20-40 mins from DC with a variety of things to do. We had our son's two dogs with us and they had plenty of yard and space to move around. We were able to make a big Christmas dinner for 12 there and a few other meals at the house easily. Cameron was easy to get a hold of and help explain the pellet stove and stovetop. There are enough rooms and comfortable beds for everyone. A great space to stay.

Beautiful, peaceful location

Beautiful, peaceful, wooded location close to DC. We saw a fox right up next to the house. Lots of windows to enjoy the views. Interesting decor although house could use some updating. We did struggle figuring out how to heat various rooms and the staircase to the basement is tricky for the very young, the very old, and those with bad balance, but other than that the house was comfortable and worked well for our needs. Cameron was a wonderful host and went out of his way to make our stay great.

McLean ba

Property has an amazing beautiful yard. Very secluded and a little stream running through it. Very quiet and relaxing. The house is very unique with abundant glass giving expansive views of the yard. The furnishings are comfortable with very nicely clean and new bathrooms. Bedrooms are comfortable and the beds are super comfortable I would highly recommend this property that is only minutes from the heart of DC. The thing i would improve would be newer gas grill on the deck

Home town vacation

My husband and I needed a place to stay in Mclean while our kitchen floors were refinished and Ranleigh Retreat was within a few miles of our house. Communication with the owner was easy and the house was clean and had a well-stocked kitchen which was a welcome surprise. The house is older, rustic, and located near Pimmit Run. The road leading to the house is wide enough for one vehicle and the bridge is rather narrow. That said, we had no issues getting to the property. We had a good stay and I appreciate the excellent communication with the owner.

Large home on a beautiful property, very wooded and secluded feel to it. Tucked away at the end of a narrow road, off of a main artery in McLean. Very quiet, and close to much of what DC has to offer. A large, older home with plenty of space for our group, 4 adults and 2 children. Host was very helpful with questions on how to work some of the appliances we weren't familiar with. We enjoyed our stay.

Very nice place set on at the top of a hill on a beautiful property. This was a family trip and everyone had room to spread out as well as spending time outside. The house is in a great location only 15-20 minutes from the airport (DCA) and close to the National Mall downtown as well as parks and hiking destinations close by. The house itself has some basic maintenance issues that should be addressed but overall it’s very comfortable and the host is very polite and responsive.

Secluded but accessible retreat

We enjoyed our weeklong stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. The setting makes it feel like the house is in the middle of the woods but we could easily drive to various locations throughout Washington and Northern Virginia.

Very comfy home … fantastic setting with great views outside living room picture window … fireplace roars and natural setting (on 10acres!) is amazing considering it is in the middle of a high end residential neighborhood .. convenient … owner told us in advance hot water was out- was ok with us - and offered partial refund which we are sure is on the way — great for families and pets !!

Fantastic host, kind, accommodating and helpful. This is not your typical VRBO. It is stocked as if a family moved out the moment before you moved in. Everything you need to cook 3 full meals a day is available, as well as toys and games for the kids. The cleaning staff is really impeccable. This home has lots of decor and accepts pets (we did not have a pet), but we did not see a speck of dust or dog hair anywhere, outstanding.

Peaceful setting close to everything

We loved the yard, setting and neighborhood for this stay. It was convenient to DC and many shops and restaurants, as well. The house had most everything we needed including for kitchen and laundry. The bed was comfortable and sleeping was peaceful.

If you want to be VERY close to DC but also have the ability to relax in a wooded setting, this place can’t be beat. A week of sightseeing in DC can be overwhelming. The location of this rental gives you an opportunity to take a break and walk the C&O canal, hike in Great Falls Park or do some wallet damage at Tyson’s Mall. Nestled in the woods, the house is very clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for relaxing.

Great Location

We visited DC for a few days and this house was in a great spot to be close enough to all of the sights in DC but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet with a great yard for our dog to enjoy. Plenty of space for a family of 4 and my teen daughter appreciated having her own private bathroom. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home near all the sites

Perfect place to stay in order to enjoy all the Nation's Capital has to offer. Private, scenic, yet, somehow, in the heart of everything. Cam did a great job with outline the check-in and check-out process. As well as, was always available for questions and help. Would definitely stay again!

Bucket list trip

Stayed a week in Gettysburg then traveled to McLean for a week to be near the DC area. Short convenient drives to Arlington, Steven F Udvar-Hazy Museum and the DC area. Beautiful home tucked away in the woods. Home completely stocked with essentials and then some! Great place. Enjoyed our stay!
