It is located inside an old farm of 1898 and overlooks its internal beam. It is surrounded by a typical countryside of the Sicilian hinterland, characterized by plots of land planted with olive trees, almonds and prickly pears. It is a few kilometers from Caltagirone, Piazza Armerina, Aidone and Morgantina, the latter famous for its Greek theater. Of particular importance and naturalistic interest is the presence of Monte Formaggio which faces the farm and contributes to the vision of spectacular sunsets. The accommodation is ideal for relaxing holidays and as a starting point for excursions and visits throughout Sicily. Nearby are large areas of forests where you can go hiking. At 5 km away, in the municipality of San Cone, there is a riding school where you can book horseback riding. In about half an hour by car you can reach: \- Aidone with the museum inside which Venus di Milo and the famous Argenti are located, the archaeological area of Morgantina; \- Piazza Armerina with its ancient historic center and the Villa del Casale, a UNESCO heritage site. \-Caltagirone with its ancient villas and famous ceramics; \- the sea of Gela with the beach of Macchitella. About an hour away is Etna: with the ancient littorine of the Circumetnea railway it is possible to make an unforgettable excursion to see the ancient lava flows and the lunar landscapes. The property is very, very clean and full of character. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower. There is a washing machineand the water supply i always reliable. Giulio is a great host and replied quickly to all our needs. There is a very comfortable sofa bed, which will accomodate two people no problem in the main living area. Urlaub in Sizilien war der schönste hier auf diesem historischen Anwesen! Beste Betreuung. Wunderbar köstliches Wasser direkt von der Quelle in der Mitte des Anwesens! Die Gemäuer und ein Ventilator reichten aus, um auch bei 37 Grad Celsius sich gut zu fühlen. In der Küche war alles Notwendige vorhanden.Der Swimmingpool mit seiner Umgebung könnte idyllischer nicht sein! Erfrischendes Wasser und diese Ruhe in der weiten Landschaft - das ist Sizilien pur! Mit dem Auto dann 30 Min. in die Stadt Mirabella fahren in das Restaurant Belvedere, dann ist der Urlaub perfekt. Von hier aus lassen sich bei Bedarf viele Besichtigungstouren ansteuern. L’ appartamento è ampio, comodo ed è presente ogni tipo di comodità, gli spazi esterni sono davvero tanti, dalla piscina con annesso un rilassante solarium, tavolinetti esterni per gustarsi gli aperitivi al tramonto, tavolo di ping pong e barbecue a disposizione degli ospiti, insomma davvero un angolo di paradiso. Er befindet sich etwa 200 m von der (nicht sehr stark befahrenen) Straße entfernt auf einer kleinen Anhöhe, umgeben von Olivenbäumen. Uns haben blühender Oleander, Lavendel und Feigenkakteen empfangen, der Blick vom Vorplatz über die Gegend wird vom Monte Formaggio dominiert, in der Ferne ist Mazzarino zu sehen. Es ist hier herrlich ruhig, tagsüber fährt nur gelegentlich der Mitarbeiter mit dem Traktor durch die Olivenhaine. Im Innenhof befindet sich ein alter Brunnen, dessen Wasser hervorragende Trinkwasserqualität hat. Der Zugang zu unserer Wohnung befindet sich im Torweg, es gibt ein Schlafzimmer mit Toilette, ein Bad mit Toilette und Dusche und das große Eingangszimmer mit Küche und einem Schlafsofa. In der Küche ist alles da, was man braucht, um sich selbst zu versorgen, Handtücher und Bettwäsche sind auch vorhanden. Wir sind mit zwei Erwachsenen und zwei kleinen Kindern (2J und 5J) hier gewesen, ein Kind hat im bereitgestellten Babybett geschlafen, das andere auf der Schlafcouch. Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen, die Vermieter waren immer hilfreich und freundlich. Die Kinder hatten hier viel Platz zum Toben und Spielen, die gesamten Außenanlagen inkl. Pool konnten wir nutzen. Wer auf hierher kommt, wird vor allem Ruhe finden. Die Gegend ist nicht sehr stark touristisch geprägt, nachts hört man draußen nur die Grillen zirpen. Zum Essen gehen gibt es in der Umgebung genug Möglichkeiten (abends erst ab 19.00 - 19.30 Uhr, mittags eher schwierig, etwas zu finden). Einen Supermarkt gibt es in Mazzarino oder in San Cono. Für einen Urlaub abseits der großen Touristenzentren ist das Objekt bestens geeignet. ##### Oliver R. Oliven und Mandelbäume säumen den Weg Ein großer Innenhof mit Brunnen und super leckeres Wasser... ein imposantes eisernes Tor und einen Ausblick über die Berge von dem man nur träumen kann. Das Haus ist also schön. Das Appartement an sich ist einfach aber mehr als zweckmäßig. Geschirr, Handtücher, Bettwäsche ist alles ausreichend vorhanden (wir waren 2 Wochen hier) und der Empfang war herzlich. Es gibt ein Schlafzimmer mit einem wirklich großen Bett - das 2. angegebene Schlafzimmer ist das (bettsofa) in der Küche / Wohnzimmer. Das preis leistungsverhältniss ist absolut in Ordnung. The farm is in the middle of hills with olive fields, 15-minute drive from charming Mazzarino. After a large entrance gate, there is a long private driveway surrounded by trees and flowering oleander and lavender bushes. The farm itself is a huge building around a courtyard with a fountain and it is more than 300 years old. Inside the thick walls, there are several apartments from 2 to 6 or 8 people. All the modern comforts are here in fine condition. But what makes it special, is the stylish way they are furnished en decorated. A loving eye for the history this place, has been at work here. And no wonder: host Guilio Randazzo grew up here and his family has owned the farm for centuries... When we arrived, he had made sure, there was some fruit and drinks in the fridge and even a fresh loaf of bread. Then you feel welcomed! Outside there are plenty of little places where you can sit in the shade and relax, play with the cats or just be amazed about the deep peace and tranquility of Sicily's heartland.
