Matira Beach is a postcard-perfect sweep of pristine sand that stretches for a mile (1.6 kilometres) along Bora Bora’s southernmost tip. Soft white sands slope gently into the protected waters of the sapphire-colored lagoon at one of the island’s few public-access beaches. Spend the day relaxing under the shade of a coconut palm or explore the warm waters. With waterfront restaurants, boutiques and tour operators a short stroll away, there’s plenty to keep you occupied for an exciting day at Matira Beach.

Wander along the beach’s eastern shores and take in the views of the lagoon’s gentle waters. Backed by lush palms and forested hills, the beach is an idyllic spot to relax. Matira Beach straddles either side of Matira Point, Bora Bora’s southern edge. The beach is easy to reach via public transport or taxi. They celebrated my birthday! I loved that part. Misinformation on transfer from the airport.. chances are you will land in Bora Bora via Tahiti airlines. Take the ferry to mainland and use the hotels transfer services. The price is half price from the mainland as compared from full price from the airport.

Property is dated, but still nice. Things, however, are in disrepair. Our cotton hammock broke due to old fibers, the bed mattresses have swells, our toilet was not fastened properly to ground. Some things can easily be fixed or replaced, but does not seem like that quality control is paramount. Bikes are used to get around property and are very used. Restaurants could use ceiling fans for guest comfort with the humidity. If you like warm temps to dine its perfect. Food was good 7/10. Evening room service was not super great-had to reorder items as they never came. Location is very good, beach and beach staff are excellent. We opted for a beach villa over a water villa as we had 4 people and enjoyed it with the extra space and privacy. Just expected more for the price as I think we got their cheaper villa by the staff housing; E. facing villa, but still very nice. A room w/ plunge pool is a must. Staff was very nice & attentive;mgrs were great too. Gym equip is dated, but complete. Did a fishing tour, they offered to prepare it. Had to be a 30 lb fish which we got maybe 16 oz of it--Very weird--as if they served us their regular maui meals and took our fish. Our fisherman warned us to make sure we watched them cook it, or we may not get it- should have heeded his advice. Overall, Bora Bora is very beautiful, water is stunning, and the St. Regis is a very nice property with great staff. Just some things that could be a little elevated including the quality control.

This is the hands down best resort i have ever stayed in. Both The resort and our room is beautiful, not to mention the mind blowing lagoon. Staffs are friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend and we will come back one day for sure.
