Close to the town centre and with breathtaking views over Matera, it's well worth a visit. The room was clean, spacious and very stylish. We only suffered from the air conditioning which didn't seem to work and cool the whole room, while it was extremely hot during our stay. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. You need to find a paid parking spot on the nearby streets (around $10 Euros for 10 hours). Our room had a small balcony overlooking the city that was incredible. Yes, the room is small but considering your in a building that is hundreds and hundreds of years old, maybe thousand of years, who cares! You have a window overlooking the 3rd oldest city in the world! Yes, it is about a15 minute walk from the parking garage to the hotel but you have to walk everywhere in Matera anyway, and once you make a turn close to the hotel and see the city for the first time , it will be all worth it. Suggest packing a couple of backpacks with everything need like we did. De opvejes dog rigeligt af stedets autencitet og beliggenhed i den gamle by med udsigt over byen og til domkirken. Morgenmaden var god og lokalet er en oplevelse. Igen en kæmpe hule. Da vi var i Matera i april var der så mange mennesker i byen at det ikke lykkedes at få et bord på en restaurant. Alt var forudbestilt. Vi fandt nogle panini i en lokal bod og de var fine nok.
