beautiful riad

Very beautiful riad hidden in the old Medina. The hosts were very welcoming and made sure our staying was as comfortable as possible. The rooms were spacious and clean. On our departure day we had to leave around 6.45am to take a tour and the hosts volunteered to make breakfast for us at 6am in the morning. We really appreciated the hospitality we experienced there.

Nice sweet small place to stay in old town.

Very nice Riad. These homes turned into hotels are very quaint. For US customers, you can think of them almost like a B&B. The rooms lacked a desk or chair. Shower did not drain, but these are very old homes. Breakfast was same daily, simple but very decent. The layout of the place was wonderful. It was a great sanctuary from the craziness of the old town and hard to believe you were in the middle of town.

I loved staying in a Riad. Dar Charkia Riad was nice. The staff were amazing and helpful. The breakfast was awesome especially the fresh squeezed orange juice. The only thing I didn't like was that I booked this particular room because it had a TV ( so my elderly mom could have something to watch when she was alone) snd the TV was nit working, I asked the male staff for help but he said its been so long they never fixed it. Thats my only dislike, but I would definitely recommend because it was central to everything and it was a 15 minute walk to the old Medina square.

Okay with room for improvement

The staff were hospitable and helpful. We arrived to a lovely tea and cookies and Hassan gave us a map and gave us good explanation on some of the main attractions. Unfortunately, our room was disappointing. Upon entering, there were two floor cushions that were very dirty with visible. The rug was dirty and the towels looked dingy. There was nowhere to put suitcases except the floor. The shower didn’t drain, so after five minutes, you had water up to your ankles.

Ble tatt fantastisk godt i mot av betjeningen på Hotellet. Hotellet ligge svært sentralt til. 15 min. å gå til Jemaa el-Fnaa. Etter reservasjon sender hotellet spørsmål om vi ønska transfer fra flyplass til hotel. Dette er absolutt å anbefale. Betjeningen møter dere der ca. 100m fra hotellet og følger dere frem. Det er ingen mulighet for parkering. Hadde følelse av å bli tatt i mot som gjester i et privat hjem. Kan anbefales på det varmeste

A little gem

We had a wonderful stay in this tranquil place set in the heart of Marrakesh. Samira and her team made the whole experience so easy, and couldn’t do enough for us! The room we were in was ideal, and opened up onto the central courtyard which was just great! We can not fault any part of our stay, and would recommend this Riad to anyone

The aesthetics of the Riad look beautiful, but sadly it was all lost due to incompetent management and communication. We lost a nights sleep and spent a day back and forth trying to resolve the issue with the house 'manager' trying to contact the owner. Given the numerous available Raids in Marrakesh, you are better off finding one that can resolve an issue when it arises.

Do not hesitate to book this Dar. It is stunningly beautiful, clean and provides the most welcome respite from the intensity of Marrakech. The staff are very friendly, accomodating and do their utmost to assist. The Dar is also very well located - it is in walking distance of the main square and Le Hardin Secret. It is also located close to a palace which means the area is well patrolled. I stayed here with a female friend and we both felt safe and secure. Would 100% recommend and would definitely stay again!

Eine wunderschöne Oase der Ruhe

Wir hatten ausserordentliches Glück, dass Michael, der Besitzer vor Ort war. Er ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und konnte uns viele Tipps über Marrakech geben. Das Zimmer war luxuriös und sauber. Auf Wunsch gab es Minztee und Kekse. Es ist eine Oase der Ruhe im belebten Marrakesch. Alles war perfekt. Jeder Zeit wieder. Danke an Michael und sein Personal :D

Absolutely brilliant hotel, definitely recommend!

I cannot fault the riad. Our stay was absolutely amazing and all of the staff were so helpful and friendly. Particularly Rachid (Rashid?) who was very attentive and courteous. The room was lovely (we stayed in the twin bed Berber suite) and the central courtyard was so peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was a good selection and good portion sizes, served whenever you were ready. The instructions sent to me after I booked the hotel were detailed and gave great tips for the area and also how to find the riad. We arranged airport transfers which were easy and convenient. Rachid came to meet us from our drop off which made it lots easier to find. The riad had excellent wifi and a bar service, including alcohol. It was well-located as it didn't take long to walk to the Koutoubia mosque and central square. It was even closer to souks which you could walk right into. It felt safe enough - it doesn't matter where you are in the city, you need to keep your wits about you. We were two unaccompanied females, and felt totally safe in the riad. We encountered a problem with our pre-booked trip and the riad staff were so helpful in trying to sort it for us, allowing us to use their phone to call the local company and tried to sort another trip out to replace the one that went wrong (we didn't need it in the end). Absolutely brilliant and would recommend it to anyone.
