Super peaceful. Clean. Super comfy beds. Waterfront location was great. Would stay here again. Pan selection was a bit limited (can’t bring your own due to having an invection stovetop) and only plastic wine glasses available (makes sense for when down by water), so if you’re a wine snob, bring your own glassware.
Everyone in the family enjoyed our time away. It was so wonderful and peaceful. Vic communicated quickly and so politely cabin was amazing. Outside was even more amazing.
The cabin is modern, cozy, and comfortable. We happened to be there on a day that broke heat records for the area and the house remained quite cool. The house was perfect for 4 adults and 1 toddler to relax and recreate together and apart. The river is gorgeous and you really can hear it from almost every part of the cabin. Only advice: bring ice the first day because the fridge icemaker takes about 24 hours to get going. Such a lovely getaway from the concrete jungle!!
We were two families that shared the cabin for ski week. The cabin was clean, well insulated, and comfortable. The induction stove boiled water super fast! Kids enjoyed the sleds, Monopoly, and chess. The owner replied quickly. We had a great time in deep powder snow. Highly recommend! Some info for future visitors below.
If you need reliable cell service and internet with fast upload speeds, then this is not the place for you. The cabin is in an area with no cellular or wired internet service. Starlink comes and goes as the satellites pass overhead, and trees or the weather can block access. Wifi calls lost connection a few times during a call. Works for email & surfing, but conference calls were a challenge.
You'll need a 4WD/AWD with snow tires or chains in a snow storm. Bring an ice scraper + snow brush and a snow shovel for the car. Parking is uncovered in front of the house, car can get buried in snow. You may need to dig out the road to Hwy 88. (There are snow shovels at the cabin.) The friendly neighbors are happy to help.
Each room has its own heater & thermostat for personalized room temps. All beds are comfy. The wood burning stove heats up the cabin fast! We appreciated the provided firewood.
Bring all food you'll need + salt. Closest grocery store is in Meyers (13 mi/20 min) but NV roads are straighter & faster, plus everything is cheaper in NV. Don't leave food outdoors and lock the car, there is a resident racoon.
Be prepared and you'll enjoy your stay!
Quick getaway after the holiday! The cabin perfectly accommodated our needs. Every bed is comfortable, bedding is very nice quality, very clean (and I’m picky), touches of decor and Christmas tree was very pleasant, and overall nicely updated! The owner was very nice and pleasant as well as the neighbors. My family and family and I had a wonderful time!
Julia has left no stone unturned in renovating this place. It’s all new inside, yet retains its rustic charm. The view off of the deck is amazing! The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. There’s a little bit of noise from the highway nearby, but it didn’t bother us that much. The sounds of nature and the river help mask it. Julia was very helpful and responsive to our questions leading up to our stay. The fall foliage was spectacular and the food at Sorenson’s restaurant across the highway was scrumptious. We highly recommend this place for a getaway in nature.
Note: if you have an EV like we did, Sorenson’s has a charging station (both Tesla and non-Tesla) within walking distance that you can use. Just beware it can get busy there and you may have to wait for your turn to charge.
Beautifully decorated and fully furnished cabin. Our family caught plenty of fish and enjoyed the fire pit on the river. Great memories, and will definitely return!
Amazing stay. Just the construction happening next door was a bit annoying since it woke us up early both days at 5-6am. The property and the process was great!!!
Beautiful property in the Tahoe area. Caught some nice rainbow trout in the back. Enjoyed a nice fire and made s’mores. A true California summer vacation. Thank you so much!
It was clean and very comfortable. back yard and fishing
sport were wonderful for my 7 and 9 years old grand kids!!!
If we can we will try next year too.
Couple of things we wished we had were coffee machine, small bowls. small coffee cups. That will make the house perfect!!!
Awesome House, Awesome Little River next to House with cool rocks to climb and relax near. Really spacious, we had a big group of 8 guys and we all fit really well. Close to Red and Blue lakes which were more fun and less tourists than at South Lake Tahoe, but also able to drive 20 min to South Lake Tahoe Casinos etc. Thanks to Vic the Owner, Hes awesome, and very friendly!
We had a great time at this property. It was easy to find, clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. We just wish it would have had a coffee maker in its kitchen. Vik (owner) is very responsive to messages I was sending him which was much appreciated also! :-)
The house was absolutely lovely .it felt very cozy , everything was completely remodel.
The view from you deck was awesome.
I enjoyed walking down the stairs to your own private river.
I will absolutely book this place again.
We booked this property to celebrate the memory of our young son who had loved the water & outdoors and it was perfect for the privacy we were looking for and also the beauty and peacefulness.
We went in May 2022 and I believe we might have been the first people to stay since the renovation and listing on VRBO. For that reason, there were a few things that would have been helpful to have had that I am used to in other VRBOs, but I left a note and the property manager is great and I am sure they will add these little things… we did all our cooking there so it was mainly those types of items. Only noting it if you’re planning on being mainly at the cabin and not going out to eat. Did not diminish our stay. There is a restaurant in walking distance across the street (with a tiny cute gift shop :) ) and the grocery store is about 15-20 min so very easy to get what you need if you forget/need something.
The bistro lights are so beautiful, the gorgeous birch trees were sparkling in the wind and you could hear the sound of the river all the way from the second story of the cabin! So I was in heaven with those things that really made me feel close to my son. The fire pit is so fun and awesome so it’s like amazing glamping! Get to shower off the smoke after you enjoy making s’mores with the kids. It was so private and there was so much seating and even a picnic bench down there for our other son to have his lunch. The weather was perfect.
The cabin is cute and clean and was stocked with firewood for the fire pit which was so nice.
A large bbq would be nice to have if I wanted to have everything.
Fishing was fun and so accessible.
Tahoe is so close, our friends left and went there, and we thought we’d want to take a day trip there, but we loved being at the cabin so much, we stayed there the entire time.
Highly recommend!
Few drawbacks if you have very young children would be needing to keep a super close eye on them with the water and the fast current (which the owner states clearly in the listing ) and inside it’s a wood burning stove so if you go in the winter, use at your discretion with littles. It’s amazing though if you don’t have to worry about that.
Also, note there are only two private rooms with doors so I think it’s best for 4 adults max/2 families.
If you want a peaceful getaway- this is the place! We hope to come back for years to come.
Thank you, Vik!
