It has two single beds, a futon sofa with a small coffee table, and a small dining table with two chairs and a private bathroom (toilet, sink and shower). It has a fully equipped kitchen. All dishes, pots and pans, towels and linens are provided (not Beach/Pool towels). A quiet AC will keep you cool at all times. Smart TV and fast WiFi. The studio has a front porch with two chairs and a small table. It has a small front yard with tropical plants and has its own gas-BBQ grill and picnic table with a large umbrella for shade. No daily housekeeping. Housekeeper will clean after the end of your stay. YARD: Tropical yard with native plants including: Pineapples, Sea Grape, Exora, Bougainville, Croton, Hibiscus and an abundance of Coconut palms allowing for relative privacy. An assortment of butterflies and birds including tiny humming birds frequently visit our yard. BOATING: Optional dock is available in our protected marina lagoon for boats up to 25 foot (additional dock fee of $15/day to home owners association). Proof of insurance, boat and trailer registration must be provided and approved before the boat can enter the park of the marina. FISHING: Our efficiencies are located ideally for fishing in the Florida Keys. Grassy Key has quick and easy access to fishing both on the Atlantic and the Bay side (the bridge for bay side access is 1/2 mile away). You can fish by boat on the flats a couple hundred yards from our dock for Bonefish, Tarpon and small Sharks. Shallow reefs only a mile or two away offer Yellowtail, Mangrove snapper, and Mackerel in abundance. The Gulf Stream offers Dolphin, Wahoo, Tuna, Sailfish, you name it. This is a boating and fisherman’s paradise Lobster can be found under rocks and ledges on both the Atlantic as well as the Bay side (during season). Fishing from the Jetty is a lot of fun. There are small sharks, Snook, Tarpon, various Snappers and Grunt. KAYAKING: Our marina provides easy access to shallow water bordered by mangroves, and some small mangrove islands less than a mile from the marina. This is a great area to Kayak, you frequently see small baby sharks, tarpon, rays and a variety of tropical fish and birds. Duck Key Island is about 2 miles from our dock. Kayaks can be rented at marina located directly across the street. BIKING: Grassy key has some quiet streets suitable for biking. Bikes can be rented at marina located directly across the street. SNORKLING : Snorkeling is fantastic at numerous nearby reefs and state marine parks (Coffin Patch Reef, Sombrero Reef). Several Snorkel-Boats leave Duck-Key and Marathon for daily trips to the nearby reef. POOL : A shared community pool is available to you, it is located a minute or two walking distance within our park grounds. LAUNDRY : A community coin laundry facility is located a minute or two walking distance within our park grounds. TIKI-HUT: Great place to meet the locals and other visitors. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine during informal "happy-hour" JETTY: Within our park, there is a jetty stretching a few hundred yards out into the ocean, great for star gazing at night, sunbathing during the day or fishing day or night. I was traveling alone, seeking a quiet "non-touristy" place to stay and this suited my needs perfectly! Before your visit, the owners will provide you with detailed information on what to expect in the unit along with instructions on using the A/C, TV, etc. They also include a list of local attractions, activities, and restaurants so you can plan ahead if you wish. The owners are reachable and quick to respond if you have any questions or discover any problems during your stay. The unit is comfortable and has a full kitchen. Previous renters may leave non-perishable items behind, so it’s a good idea to see what’s there before you head to the grocery store. There is also a storage unit with chairs, coolers, and other items one might need for a beach trip. These are also left by previous tenants, and are shared between the guests in the 5 units. The front porch is semi-private and surrounded by beautiful flora. Gives a very tropical vibe! The community is private and quiet. People who live there are friendly and make you feel welcome. The walkway to the jetty is lush, and you can see the sunrise and the sunset from the jetty due to its position. You’ll see plenty of wildlife there also! There is a pool available for guests, and it’s clean and a great place to relax in the sun and cool off in the water if you’re not up for a beach trip. It was spotless when we arrived. Finding it and check it was a breeze. Communication with the owner was prompt. The laundry facilities are so great. The only issue I could possibly come up with if I dig deep is the blender does not chop ice. So smoothies or frozen cocktails are a no go. Otherwise there is literally everything a person could need. Perfect size for 2\. Unit was clean and had everything we needed. Cooked on the gas grill one night and had everything we needed. Pool was beautiful and 84 degrees. The jetty which projects a couple hundred yards into the ocean was a great place to hang out enjoy sunrises and sunsets. This is a community of mainly permanent residences so being respectful on noise, Speed while driving and keeping their grounds spotless goes along way. Its peaceful and quite setting. Had everything we needed inside the room. If only we had a 25' or smaller boat. The marina area was perfect and quiet also. Docks in excellent shape. The neighbors are super nice too. The property is on a small site, containing a mixture of trailers, cottages and some larger homes. It is quiet and peaceful, with pleasant areas by the dock and a walk along a path that stretches to the sea. At the end are seats and picnic tables where you can observe to fishing activities of the cormorants, pelicans, gulls and herons. Warning! The gulls can become enthusiastic when left over sandwiches are offered! The property itself is a reasonable size with air conditioning and ceiling fans. The kitchen area had all you needed to survive if you chose to eat in. At the end of the drive however was the SS Galley Grill, which we used every day while we were there. Negatives...only one really, which was the sofa bed, which was particularly uncomfortable. The property was home to ants, which seemed to be oblivious to the ant traps that were located around the place. On the plus side, if you dropped any food on the floor, the ants carted it away! It is worth mentioning the no-see-ums, which are minisqule biting insects that come out late afternoon, until daylight. You don't see them, but they see and bite you, so insect repellent is a must if you don't want to be scratching all your holiday. We would stay there again, if that damn sofa was replaced! ##### Lee M.
