Chose this because it was very convenient for the station. Found that it was something of a gem. Old-fashioned station hotel, family-run, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Cranky Friday Evening Front Desk Recrptionist
The front desk greeter was awful. Heavy smoker who smelled badly. Was curt, unfriendly and abrupt, Friday night, 9/27 arrival. However, his associate the next morning was the exact opposite and most helpful!

Good value for money
Well positioned opposite the railway station and a short walk from the historic centre of Mantua, this family run hotel provides clean, basic rooms (consistent with a good 3 star hotel) and a good continental buffet breakfast. We used the onsite car park for a small charge (12 Euro). Staff were all friendly and helpful. Good value for money 3 star hotel.

Good price plain hotel
Feels more like a dorm than a hotel. Large rooms with marble floors, ensuite bathroom, and friendly staff offset by hard beds, mold in shower, flaky internet, busy road and disgusting breakfast. Right across the street from the train station. Off street parking.

I wanted somewhere close to the station and easy walk to town and this was that. It was so wonderfully quiet which was a real bonus. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful happy to help you with anything. Would happily stay again

Traditional family run hotel
We were in Mantova specifically for the Young Fathers/Massive Attack concert in Piazza Sordello about 15 mins walk away. The hotel offered simple comfort, breakfast and parking at a reasonable price.

Convenient location, great service, nice breakfast
Very nice service, good breakfast in a spacey breakfast room. Location just across from the railway station was just what I wanted. Easily within walking distance from all the sights. Only drawback was that the outside smoking area was too close to my balcony. Wifi in the room was scarse.

Excellent value & location in Mantova
A nice, comfortable, well managed property directly across from the train station. Room was spotless, includes a desk area and convenient plugs for work. The lobby has several comfortable seating areas and a full bar. The breakfast is on par with many Rome hotels, plus the Nescafé coffee machine produces really good cappuccino. The friendly and helpful staff made my stay pleasant. I recommend this hotel when visiting Montoya.

Air con is non existent as only available when temp is over 30 deg. Request for a fan was refused. Having window open simply invites insects.

Air conditioning exists in all rooms. Obviously, by opening the window overlooking the garden, some insects can enter!

Good location, service quality could be improved
Location right across from the train station is its best feature. Easily walkable to other parts of the city. Service is somewhat stiff, awkward and distant, which is unfortunately rather typical of northern Italy. For a town so swamped by tourists you would think the staff would be more used to dealing with foreigners and non Italian speakers. Breakfast is very sparse and poor compared to many other hotels we have stayed at in the country. Overall the hotel is rather overpriced for what it offers, but once again that is typical of northern Italy.

Pleasent Hotel close to train station and old town
Stayed one night in a family room. Room was clean and spacious, friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast not great however lots of bakerys in the old town with delious pastries.

Convenient Hotel for Train Travel and Sightseeing
As two couples traveling together, we selected this hotel for its location and price point and we stayed in two rooms for two nights. The staff was very gracious and helpful, providing directions, answering questions, and holding our bags after checkout so we could take a last morning run to see a museum before our train departure. We liked our rooms with balconies overlooking the courtyard and found them to be comfortable. There was a very good continental breakfast in the morning and additional items/drinks were always available at the lobby bar.

Nice stay
Extremely convenient hotel for a stay in Mantua. It's right across the street from the train station, but you won't hear any noise from the trains or the street. It's just a short walk to the center of the city and to the main sites. Along the way there are coffee shops, restaurants, and stores, so it's a nice area. The room was immaculately clean, and the staff was so kind, you can tell they take pride in the hotel. It's not a modern building by any means, but good for a short trip to Mantua.

Clean, but not much more. If you are not fussy, it could be ok but don't expect a 3 star hotel. It felt more like a college dormitory. The walls are thin and you can hear everything from neighbors and the hallway. The wifi does not work well and a long time to connect. I had problems on my phone and computer and it was very frustrating. The hotel is in desparate need of renovation. The breakfast was very disappointing (worst coffee in Italy) and I spotted a hotel employee pick at food with their fingers while eat from the buffet in front of hotel guests. Not very professional and not very comfortable.

Ideally close to the station and Gluten Free fried
Exhausted after a long train journey from Rome (2changrs) walking over the Ebra crossing into the calm of the family-run Albergo Bianchi Stazione was a delight. The inner courtyard was a pleasant retreat and the big bathroom with great shower had a good supply of towels. There are a couple of restaurants in easy walking distance and the historic centre easily walkable...we seniors managed fine! Spotlessly clean rooms and sheets and towels changed regularly. Excellent value for money. The hotel had prepared for my Gluten Free diet for breakfast too, a big plus!

A very pleasant stay, a short walk into the centre of Mantova, literally a stones throw from the train station. Perfect if you are travelling around by train. Room was ample and comfortable. The breakfast buffet generous. I would recommend it to a friend.

A warm rustic feel 3 star hotel
The hotel has a warm and rustic feel despite being a 3 star and being right along a busy road...Run by a family that obviously take pride in what they do, I love the clean bed linens and towels, 5 star quality!

Friendly service but hotel a little tired
We stayed here for three nights and used it as a base for exploring the surrounding area. The staff were extremely friendly and the location is great. The hotel is a little old but that didn't really bother us. The only complaint we had is that the air conditioning is not great, even at full power the room was still extremely warm and stuffy. Overall fine for the price.

A great location for those arriving by train.
The hotel is directly across the street from the railroad station. It is an older building in keeping with the neighborhood and is a moderate walk to historic sites along several lovely streets. The whole city of Mantua is quite walkable and rather flat. The rooms were comfortable but a bit austere. The bathroom was fine and comfortable. The desk staff were very helpful. A central location in an old well preserved medieval city.

We wanted to arrive and depart Montava by train so this Hotel was perfectly located directly infront of the station. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the historic centre. The Hotel was very good value for money.

The hotel is right opposite the railway station which was perfect for me as I was just staying one night in Mantova to go sight-seeing and wanted somewhere convenient and good value. The room was spotless and the staff very pleasant.

Our room was generous in size and well appointed. The hotel was accessible easily and parking was convenient. However I was very disappointed by the breakfast which was by far the worst in quality we found in all the hotels we stayed in in Italy. The quality was better on the last day of our three day stay so it is possible there was a reason we were not aware off! Stale bread and no meat/cheese other than little packets of pepperoni were a let down.

Excellent location for us, its opposite the railway station for convenient travel to other town & its a short walk to the historic centre. Bus stops also outside. We requested & got a room overlooking the central courtyard which was very quiet at night. Good sized double bed & excellent air conditioning. Room basic but adequate. Shower good with basic toiletries Even though very hot outside we could turn off the air conditioning overnight & slept well. We like to take breakfast inclusive & were wary here due to other reviews. These were justified. Most items seemed to be from packeted products. No selection of continental meats or cheeses except small pieces of rolled 'salami sticks' (horrid!) and packets of 7cm square processed cheese. Toaster provided. 3 bowls of cornflake based cereals. Plain yoghurt only. Breads OK, croissants, pastries often dry. Packeted jams. Choice of 2 fruit juices. Fresh fruit -mostly apples & oranges plus few nectarines & kiwi fruit. Hot drinks served individually-coffee excellent but you had to ask if you wanted further cups-refills never offered. Hotel used by tour parties on some nights. Breakfast room very full then. Other mornings just 1 or 2 other guests. Staff disappeared once hot drinks served. Internet access (1hr sessions) & WiFi available to guests. Tip - Tourist info centre v helpful, their map better than hotel one. We'd recommend the hotel for basic good value but with some strong reservations on the breakfast.
