"Gorgeous room, shame the TV was a bit basic but everything generally very good"

"There is a bit of a hill to reach hotel when walking from train station or bridges to town center. Some of this incline can be shortened by walking along the road past Grand Hotel main entrance, marked by black metal gates/fencing. Check-in was quick & easy, hotel once inside is fine for anyone with mobility issues Breakfast was fresh, although if you aren't a fast eater it quickly cooled on the plate. A choice of egg would have been nice,my grand daughter wanted a dippy egg as she hates scrambled. Sausages & bacon were good. B/fast staff were lovely especially Victoria(?) with blonde ponytail. The whole area was present clean & tidy as was our family bedroom & bathroom. Bed & sofa bed were very comfortable with great pillows. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again."

"Visited with a friend, we had a very large twin room with large bathroom (room was for accessibility needs which we did not require but would definitely highly recommend for anyone that does have) Tea and coffee facilities, lovely bathroom supplies. We wanted flexibility in morning so didn’t have breakfast but the 11am checkout was great for us for extra chatting time"

"This is the perfect location in York. The hotel is beside Yorkminster and an easy walk to the Shambles and pubs. The hotel is clean and lovely and the staff were great. Highly recommended. "
