Downstairs the bar area looked welcoming and seemed very popular. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they didn't serve breakfast but the Summer Cafe across the road was excellent. The hotel is located in the middle of Malmesbury so well positioned for exploring this delightful little town. It has a very friendly atmosphere and staff and we enjoyed our 6 night stay very much. We used it as our base for walks in the country side, visiting family and a trip to Bath. Parking is in the rear next to the annex rooms. It's a tight squeeze between the buildings if you have a large car! The room was small, but adequate for a 1 night stay. Amazing bakery next door for your breakfast! We arrived nearly 2 hours early but no issues, a room was available. And I must lovely service from the lady at reception. We stayed in the old stables so room out back which was super quiet, very comfortable and good size. Nespresso in the room and they happened to have my favourite capsules "Cape Town Enviro". One suggestion would be to only have bathtowels, eapecially for overnight visitors Id suggest two towels each not needed. Had an excellent evening meal. Parking for about 8 cars in the courtyard but there was room for on the road parking outside. The room was comfortable and had all the essentials needed to keep us and our Lurcher happy. One gripe the football was on and finished late, that's fine but a group of customers came and sat out in the smoking area, well away from the pub but outside all the rooms. This was 1am and they shouted, screamed and laughed. I don't mind but we had driven miles and were knackered, couldn't sleep making driving the next day difficult. Needs signage displayed asking people to respect those staying in the rooms. The smoking area needs to be blocked off after 11pm.
