Sweet apartment in the middle of everything, only a few steps from Gran Via Metro. We walked everywhere - plazas, museums, restaurants, palace, shopping and more. Very clean and nicely renovated and decorated. Plenty of space for two adults. Three floors of stairs to climb but the building has a lift. Secure and safe building and area. We were two females and never felt unsafe walking around the area or in the apartment building. The walls must be well insulated because we never heard our neighbors or people above us. However, the street noise can get pretty loud. Granted we were there the week of New Years, so there were a lot of people out and about. We struggled with the noise from the trash pickup crew that occurred every night between midnight and 3 am. But if you are a heavy sleeper or can use ear plugs, you will definitely love being so close to everything. The hosts are wonderful and very accommodating. They provided great recommendations. Very cozy, clean, and comfortable apartment.
Rosa and Oscar as hosts could not have been better or more helpful. Met us at end of the street and gave a very thorough briefing on the apartment and Madrid. When the coffeemaker broke they had a brand new one there that day with coffee. Place is large BD we’ll equipped everything is no more than 20 min away and major metro stop is 2 min. Only thing about being so close to center is that weekends are noisy till 5 am and if a light sleeper might be troublesome.
Host met us at the property and showed us how everything worked. Gave us maps and lots of great suggestions. They were easy to get hold of and very responsive. The apartment is small, but has most everything you need. There is a fair amount of noise, being in the city center. The large old windows do a pretty good job blocking out the noise for sleeping purposes. AC works well. The area is a great location to get almost anywhere in central Madrid. Furnishings were fairly comfortable.
The hosts, Rosa and Oscar, were very helpful prior to arrival, with prompt responses to questions, and also the provision of information about the local area.
The property is a fully-renovated apartment in an older style block, facing the street. The street does not have through traffic.
The flat is very conveniently located to most of central Madrid’s attractions, including the major museums, Gran Vía, Chueca and Malasaña. Even though Gran Vía Metro station was closed for refurbishment during my stay, I walked most places anyway, and Sol Metro station is 5 minutes away.

Super location; lovely decor
This rental is in the heart of Madrid. During our stay, we were able to easily walk to all the big-name sites (Prado, El Retiro Park, the Royal Palace, the Puerta del Sol).
If you want a taxi, walk up the street, take a right and flag down one of the hundreds of Madrid taxis. Or walk 5-7 minutes to grab a subway.
There are food stores very near, and in Calle de Caballero de Gracia alone, about six restaurants. Check out La Gloria de Montera -- a white-tablecloth restaurant with lovely food.
We loved the contemporary decor. The living room is a fairly narrow space, but the kitchen area is roomy and the bedroom is lovely, with lots of storage space for clothing. For Americans used to larger quarters, be aware this is a small apartment, and four flights up a building with a tiny elevator. But why travel if everything is like home?!
A bonus (for us) is the church across the street -- we missed it at first, as it's eclipsed by a modern black-glass-window high rise and another tall building. Check out the interior -- lovely stained glass and murals. And the bells ring, somewhat mysteriously, for 41 chimes several times a day.
All in all, a great stay!

Amazing location
The location can't be beat, literally. A 10-15 minute walk to all of the Madrid sights, including the palace, Retiro Park, Puerto del Sol and the Prado Museum. Has a metro stop within 30 meters but we didn't even need it given the proximity to so many attractions. The apartment itself is perfect for two, very clean and modern. And the hosts were kind of enough to meet us at the apartment to let us in and give us a summary of the surrounding neighborhoods. Would love to come back here.

A comfortable flat, ideally located
Really enjoyed staying in this comfortable flat, which is ideal for a couple. Nice bathroom. Well equipped kitchen (coffee machine, washing machine, dish washer, iron and ironing board). Good lift for getting to the flat on the third floor, and efficient air-con. Owners were very helpful.
It is ideally located. Close to the lovely Mercado de San Anton, which is great for shopping and eating. And easy to walk to wherever in the centre of Madrid you want to go, including the Prado.
All in all - I really recommend staying here.

Beautiful Apartment in the heart of the city
The apartment was clean, comfortable, quiet, cozy and well-decorated. The two downsides were 1) there were (what were clearly to me) working girls at the end of the street on the pedestrian mall. But they were generally unobtrusive and not aggressive; 2) while there was cable TV, none of the channels was English speaking...I would have liked to check the news and current events while I was there beyond the Internet. Having said all this, I would definitely stay here again.

Nice Place in Madrid
This is a cute little apartment with everything you need for a great stay. Located near the metro (although if all you are wanting to do is within the city center you don't really need to use it), lots of great restaurants/bars and within walking distance of every place you'll want to go. There is some street noise starting around 10:00pm - 1:00am - so do your going out late in the evening and you'll be fine. Oscar was very helpful orienting us the areas of the city.

A real pleasure to have stayed in that apartment
It was a real pleasure to have been in this apartment for one week. Oscar and Rosa, the ownwers, have shown their real interest in being able to offer a place where we have felt at home.
The apartment is located in central Madrid, at walking distance from everythig you may need: restaurants, museums, theaters, palaces, etc, etc. . It is in the third floor of an historic building, recently renovated in a very professional manner, with bathroom and kitchen fixtures of the highest quality. Nothing is missing. Dishwasher, washing machine, expresso maker, etc. etc.
If we have to come back to Madrid, I will, by all means, try to stay there again.
My congratulations to Rosa and Oscar.

Comfortable. well-appointed apartment in the center of all you want to see.
We stayed in the apartment for a week during our recent visit to Madrid and were very pleased with both the location and how clean and comfortable the space was. Not being familiar with the city, we weren't sure where to stay but it turned out perfectly - less than a block off the Grand Via, a short walk to Puerta del Sol and easy access to the metro (however, when we were there the Blue Line was down so we walked a little more than usual). We also had easy access to all the museums, close to food markets for shopping, and plenty of restaurants.
A few things you should know if you're considering this and you're not familiar with the city: To state the obvious, Madrid is an old city and some streets/locations are in better repair than others. The street that this building is on is, apparently, going through some updating and there is a lot of construction. It is not pretty.. Fortunately, the apartment is quiet and the noise wasn't a problem.
The interior of the apartment appears to be new and is in excellent condition, clean and very comfortable (except the couch is kind of hard).
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals if you like to do that. Although there isn't a dryer, there is a drying rack for clothes if you need to do laundry. We enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the recommendations of places to visit and restaurants that Rosa and Oscar shared.

Great appartment in a great location
This apartment is centrally located, 50 meters from Calle Montera and Gran Via. A 5-minute walk will take you to La Puerta del Sol and a 15-minute walk to La Plaza Mayor. The apartment was very recently renovated with very good taste in a modern style and has all the necessary amenities, including a modern bathroom, a very functional kitchen and a good central air conditioning unit. Madrid gets really hot in the summer, so air conditioning is a most during those months. We were received by the owner, Rosa, who is a delightful person. She offered a lot of useful information about restaurants, bars and other attractions. We will try to book this apartment again next time we travel to Madrid for sure. Highly recommended.

Luxurious apartment in central Madrid
We were delighted with this comfortable, elegant apartment in central Madrid. Our host, Oscar, welcomed us with a bottle of wine, a bowl of fruit and some butter cookies, and then oriented us to the many attractions of Madrid and restaurants that were all within walking distance from the apartment. It was only a 15 minute walk to the Prado and other art museums were nearby. Similarly, it was a 15 minute walk to the Palacio Real, the opera house, and the Plaza Mayor. In addition to being near many neighborhood restaurants, there are some very nice restaurants right downstairs from the apartment. In a lovely historic building, the apartment was recently renovated to a very high specification. For example, the kitchen counter is of polished black granite, and the shower has two different types of heads. The interior looks professionally designed. All the furniture and furnishings are substantial; there is nothing cheap or flimsy here. The bed is luxuriously comfortable. The sheets and towels are generously supplied and brand new. The kitchen is nicely equipped and even has an automatic espresso maker. There’s also a dishwasher and a washing machine (the drying rack is in a closet). After the first week of our stay, Oscar arranged for a housekeeping person to thoroughly clean the apartment and change the sheets and towels. We lacked for nothing here. We would come back to this apartment in a heartbeat.
