"Just all around great place"

"The house was charming. It was the perfect venue for a birthday weekend for our daughter and several friends. We had great meals at home and a wonderful celebration at Chamard Vineyards which is very near by. Hosts were great. "

"What a sweet cottage! We had three adults and two children stay and there was room for us all. The host left a fully stocked snack basket which my kids loved. Fully stocked kitchen and very comfortable beds. It snowed overnight and before we were up, the driveway was plowed and the front walkway cleared! We had a great stay and will return if we are back in the area. Highly recommend!"

The host was extremely responsive to our questions and went above and beyond to make our stay smooth, like when we needed plowing for an unexpected snowstorm. "The location is perfect - walk to the beach easily with little ones. If wasn't sleeping, I was sitting on the front porch on a comfy settee, watching people walk by. Met and spoke with the owners who were lovely as well as attentive. However - I was surprised at the lack of basics - I have rented many times before (not sure if via VRBO or what) and there have always been beach chairs, decent dishes, good place to sit outside,out door shower etc. Grill was unusable (to us) as were coffee pots. Next year we are going to look at Guilford or another Shoreline - maybe Madison has just gotten out of my price range. "

"House was as pictured with a beautiful lake view from the deck. Was disappointed with the trash left outside of the house mostly in the back yard (old fire pit next to hot tub, pile of cement blocks, construction molding on ground under bushes). The house had a few small unfinished projects inside (bedroom pocket door didn’t work properly, unfinished molding around doors, mattresses in bunk room didn’t fill the bed frame). It just didn’t seem 100% rental ready. For the nightly price, the house should have been pristine inside and out. We also had an issue with the hot water and called for assistance. We were informed someone would come but never did. Luckily the problem resolved itself. I would suggest supplying documentation on the check out procedure. "
