We just needed a place to Sam yay we ended up staying at their sister motel down the road due to flood damage. The Starlite was fine for a bed to sleep in. It was run down wall paper peeling off wall, screenin slider door ripped so couldn’t have open due to bugs, floor along side of tub rotted, and cob webs on ceiling could have all easily been taken care of. The manager was super friendly and helpful. We did get a good nights sleep

This property was not in business when we arrived on June 10, 2021! We had a reservation made months before our arrival. Another motel got us a room.
Didnt even get into my room. Called the front desk, no one answered all day or night. Arrived and no one was there, the "office" was open and horribly taken care of, a beer bottle was on the counter. Ended up sleeping in my car and SURPRISE no one was available to answer phone the next day or when I showed up in person.
This place was a dump. Room was paid ahead of time for queen beds but when we got there they said there was now only had full size bed due to remodeling. Then said it was hotel.com fault for not have correct up to date information and would not refund the extra money paid for the queen. The room had a old musty smell, carpets had stains all over them and one of the beds top mattress was bigger then the bottom one.

Adequate for the job - pretty bare bones
If you are looking for a place to sleep and nothing more, this is your place. It has great freeway access and in close proximity to the main strip of Mackinac City (but you will have to drive there). There are no amenities (not even a phone) except a tv. The furniture has seen better days and the beds are OK. Not a place for a romantic get away, but just fine if you want to sleep and move on.
Good location. Old, very musty facility. Staff was polite and helpful.

Economical and comfortable enough
Beds were comfortable, however the metal frames are much larger than the bed and hidden by the bedspread...ouch! The room was clean, but carpets held a musty odor. The young guy at the counter was really nice, however he needs to make sure he has a candle or filter going to cover up the weed smell from the back room. Continental breakfast is muffins, if the basket shows up, otherwise you can go over to the Hamilton and get something there. Overall, the location is easy to find, the price is good, and it's clean for an older hotel.
Pool was half full and algae was prominent. Expedia advertised queen beds when double beds were the only thing available. I would not go back. Two young men who were running the office were not organized. Papers piled over front desk. No apparent filing system.

No cancel policy :-(
due to the weather I was unable to travel to the Capri. Although I tried to cancel the previous night I was unable to due so as I was an hour past the 24hr. window the Hotels.com imposes.
As a result My experience was not a good one, only a costly one!
unhappy. would not allow me to cancel a reservation that I booked late thru hotels.com. called and called the place to try to talk to them directly to confirm they still would hold the room late( been burned by hotels.com before) and after FOUR hours of calling FINALLY got hold of someone who refused to cancel the reservation(I had made other plans as I wasn't certain they would have a room when I arrived very late!) . Afterwords, I came to find out there is no "manager" on the property, but that it is one of many hotels in the area that are "owned" by the local tourist authority... sad. that they not only price gouge (this place was no better than a motel 6 but the cost was three or four times as much as a typical motel 6).

Very disappointed and ripped off.
Our reservation was booked for two queen beds. Upon entering the room we found two double beds. When we questioned the manager we were told that they don't own any queen beds and there was nothing they would do. The pillows were uncomfortable. On a positive note the shower spray pressure was the best and the towels were great!!!
It was the worst motel I have ever seen. We left! The employee was rude, the room was smelly and dirty with ants crawling on the walls. When we requested a receipt we were refused and when we insisted, they called the police,

Hotel was ok
Clean for the most part. Carpet looked very dirty. It needs to b riped out and replaced. Shower pressure was awesome!! Check in took a little while but went smooth.
Arrived at the Capri hotel at 5:00PM. Our room was not ready. It seemed management had decided to do major remodeling to the motel the weekend of July 4th; replacing all the beds and some of the carpeting. While we could check in - recorded our credit card, they could not print out a receipt as their printer did not work.
We were told our room would be ready in an hour. We returned at 6:30PM. The room looked like the beds were new but wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the bathroom smelled musty. We asked for a refund/cancelation as the room and motel was not as advertised; definitely not clean, no water in the pool and the continental breakfast was a micro wave and a toaster.
The desk attendant responded with a NO!. H e could not give us a refund because
a) we did not cancel 72 hours prior as told to us by the desk clerk or
b)24 hours prior as stated on the check in registration document.
Take your pick.
He would, however,
a) give us a free pass to a water park because the pool was not operating (we are 74 year old seniors)
b) a breakfast coupon to a local restaurant somewhere in the city and,
c) he would move us to another room.
The other room was better but;
The night stand that was to be between the beds was against the far wall.
The drapes could not be fully closed over the front window as hooks were missing from the drapes
The sink drained slowly as the drain plug was not adjusted properly.
(not enough room to list all that as wrong
Very dated property, needs a lot on maintenence, leaking plumbing, broken aircondioner, very old beds, worn and stained towels and bedding. Should be renamed to "The Last Resort" since it appears that way.
Well an emergency with my dad I never got to sleep in it or be in the room at all. But did see the manger and 1 other person cleaning the rooms they looked .pretty good for what I seen. But the manger in the office was great very helpful with the whole situation. Thank you so much..

Couldn't use the pool
We we able to use the pool at their sister hotel which was dirty.
We had a good experience here. Very good price and comfortable room. The beds were very comfortable, the room was nice and clean and we'd deffinitely come back.
Clean, quiet, old school simple.
Beds a comfortable.. Pillows soft.
Location is perfect for bridge access and downtown Mackinac city.
Your away from the maddening crowd so in and out of town is simple easy.
Yet just a short walk from tourist trap central.
Continue entail breakfast was typical.....but coffee was good and Hot.
Orange juice was sent and cold.
Toasted rain bagley, a bowl of raisin bran (icy cold milk too)...
And I was out the door well rested and ready for a day of kayaking.
No frills!!!!
True enough...
Hey!.... I go north to play and simplify.
Not ti collect bragging rights about a needlessly posh over priced hotel I spent a weeks salary to stay at.
But you can't go wrong at the "Capri", if all you really need....is to see a smiling face when you arrive at check-in and a good nights rest.
