The floors were not cleaned prior to check in. A wet mop should be included when preparing a room for check in. Dust mop is not sufficient to get floors clean. My granddaughter's socks and knees were black from your floors even after we wiped the foors with a wet wash clothe. We received no instruction about trash and no trash was picked up in three days stay. We picked up trash in the parking lot and that's part of the trash left in the room. Have pool hours listed somewhere or on the door to the pool. Don't advertise the indoor water park if it is not open. My daughter was looking forward to the Waterpark during our stay.

If you check in after midnight like I did make sure to call ahead. You’ll have to get your room key next door from the Clarion. Maybe it is better to just stay at the Clarion. When i got to the room it had been remodeled as advertised with pine and the smell reminded me of cabins I’ve stayed in before. I realized there was sand on the floor when i got into the bed. No big deal as this is fairly common with beach properties. In the morning I was using the bathroom and heard water. I looked up and there was water pouring out of the ceiling above the tub. I called the front desk and they said they’d send maintenance. No offer of another room or any kind of consideration. Two hours later water was still coming down so I couldn’t shower in there. The towels were wet and the water had a smell. At that point it was time to check out and I asked if I needed to come to the front desk to get a refund or if they could just handle that. The staff transferred me to the manager. Manager Patricia immediately had an adversarial, bossy tone. No quarter from Patricia. No apology, no empathy. She just told me the pay a maintenance service and the service hadnt sent anyone (two hours later). Nothing nice to say here so I’ll suffice to say I do NOT recommend this place. Maybe I was just lucky and the room above me repeatedly flooded their bathroom. Maybe the plastic panel above the shower allowed access to a recurring issue. Stay safe out there folks.

The front desk staff were very nice to us. However, we noticed first that the water park was still under construction without any notification. The room itself was very dirty and dusty, the ceiling of the bathroom had mold, and the blankets were stained and had holes in them. I wouldnt recommend using the pool for it was in poor shape and in need of a serious cleaning for there looked to be mold there too. The beach was only doable because they were cleaning up all the poop as we arrived. I will never stay here again.

It was fine for what we expected. A place to rest while visiting Mackinaw. We didn't use it but the beach would be nice for families going for that reason. Front desk staff was nice and friendly. Very close to the ferry to the island. Beds were hard and not very comfortable. Low end. But seemed clean.

The room part with the beds were relatively clean and remodeled which is nice. There was no indication of a microwave before our stay. It would have been nice to know that in advance. The bathroom is outdated, the curtain needs to be changed, and there is exposed wood directly around the shower and in the shower area which is a concern for mold. They should add a ramp or one elevator for those on higher floors who have difficulty walking. Even if the listing says no elevators, it is a significant boost to the property to add at least one. Breakfast you may as well consider yourself to be on your own. Whole property really needs to be power washed, everything outside of out bedroom part was kind of disgusting.

Room was very dirty and in need of updating especially the bathroom. Bathroom shower rod was fully rusted and the curtain had stains on it. Toilet seat was dirty like it wasn’t cleaned fully. The sheets on both beds were very thin and felt damp/musty the entire stay. A lot of gnats not sure where they were coming from. We noticed sand all over the floor as soon as we walked in. Only positive to the room was that it was right on the beach.

Half the lights didnt work. Bed was hard. Thought it had a splash park and it wasnt open. Thought it had breakfast and it dont. Room was ok and rate was good. Wasn't the best hotel but wasnt the worse. Good for a good price.

Ok generic stay place with helpful staff, room was a bit dirty and even a little bugs. Property was not that appealing, though it did have some convenient beach access. Would not really stay again. Property seemed like it could be improved to provide a nicer feel even in terms of lighting would make a difference in the sense of security and comfort. We had to fight to find places to plugin electrical devices.

This was actually the most disgusting stay I have ever had, anywhere. Do not book this hotel, thinking you will be in one of the renovated rooms… with the chance of being in an old unit. We did not have a lakefront view, as the pictures show. There was no beautiful, new wood paneling, as shown. We were put in 3 rooms that had not been touched in probably 20 years. Aside from them being old and outdated, the state of the room was horrendous. We had fire alarms go off, from the steak of the shower, there were bugs in the bathroom, we had the breakers blow not once, but twice and caused our room to have no air (in the middle of August). The lamp shades were beyond dirty, the amount of cobwebs that were attached to places that should have been wiped down before we got there, was insane. There was old coffee in the pot. We slept in our clothes on top of the bed, in fear that our bedding hadn’t been washed. There was dried urine on the toilet. The indoor waterpark was broke and had been since last year. We didn’t even attempt the pool. The beach was GROSS. Trash everywhere, dog poop and seagull poop all over the available beach chairs. I could go on and on. You literally couldn’t pay me to stay here again.

This property had a few very good aspects. The location was excellent, near all the sites, good restaurants and beautiful scenery. It was right on the beach with a perfect lake view. Amazing sunrises. The room was large enough with nice beds and adequate space. However, there were some real negatives. The first room we were given had a toilet with not enough pressure to flush properly and a screen door to the patio facing the lake which was both ripped and stuck so it could not open or close all the way. The staff changed our room, which required extra moving on our part but was a welcome change. Both those things now worked. But, the new room did not have a working phone nor any hangers at all. Landline I can do without, hangers not so much. I requested hangers, was told I would receive them, never did. So, Iwent back to the office for a third time and was told there would be no hangers as the type needed were the ones eith permanent, circular, metal attachments and they had no more. End of story. After close to an hour of discussions, moving, more discussions and still ending up with an unresolved problem, I was not happy. Additionally, the patio was basic concrete with 2 plastic chairs and the steps up to the first floor were shredded, sand-filled carpet that were in need of replacement. Granted, it is difficult to keep beach property clean, but still... I loved the views and locations but would book elsewhere next time.

Very nice room! It looks updated and the indoor pool was nice. We had a suite on the second floor that had a balcony that looked out over Lake Huron it was very nice we even ate dinner one night on it. It was less than 5 minute walk to Arnold ferry to Mackinac Island no need to drive you’re vehicle anywhere and pay for parking. I would definitely stay here again next year if the price stays right!! The woman at the front desk very helpful and nice too

We found insects and spiders in the rooms, and one room door did not lock properly. Our room was down a flight of stairs despite requesting a first-floor room for older family members. The floors were very slippery, there was a strong chemical smell, and the room wasn’t ready after check-in time. We ended up leaving and booking another hotel.

Don’t even stay here. Rooms probably were never cleaned. There were comb-web and dust. The floors were sticky. I wiped it with wipes and it was all black. The bathroom you can visibly see the dirt. The tub was clogged. Pool didn’t have any towels even after requesting it. The staff wasn’t helpful. The water park is “under construction”. Rooms and bathroom were outdated. Not enough parking. Window was cracked. Sheets had stain. If it wasn’t so late would have went somewhere else.

The location was fabulous and front desk staff were incredibly kind. Room cleanliness left a little to be desired. Luckily, I had cleaning wipes with me from the first part of our trip so I as able to clean the toilet and sink area.
