It is accessed via cobblestone road built for the passage of the carriages of ancient times. The place is also famous for its beneficial waters and is located in a green valley whose landscape and context create a harmony repeatedly emphasized by several writers and poets. This was one of the territories preferred by the aristocrats who ruled Lucca until the nineteenth century and who built their most beautiful homes here. This villa, with the noble coat of arms of the aristocratic family who built it and who lived there, has a very large scale with a pavilion that leads into a large hall from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view overlooking the city of Lucca and its ancient towers. The rooms show, in part, some frescoes and the nymphaeum, hollowed in the overlying hill, still owned, further qualifies the noble characteristic of the villa. The kitchen on the ground floor, with access to the park and the pool below, is full of testimonies of the era and as in the nymphaeum it makes you enjoy, especially in summer, a cool temperature. Upon arrival we were met by the family owners and shown around the large property. It was completely equipped with everything we needed. A great balance of old world charm and newer conveniences to experience a "getaway" vacation - yet close to Lucca and the surrounding Tuscany sights. A great patio overlooking the pool area with expansive views. Just what we were looking for. To top it off, our welcome included a variety of fruits, meats, a bottle of bubbly AND a birthday cake to honor our granddaughter's birthday. Highly recommended. ##### Arthur R. Location is what what we expected. Quiet and away from everyone. Easy drive to Lucca. House needed a deep clean. Owner was responsive to any questions we had and handled it all very well. Fans in each room but it did get nice and warm in the house. Walkable restaurant was a nice default option and really good. Pool was great when you just to chill out.
