"This was a wonderful property and location. It was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated with plants. We did not want to be right in Coimbra so we picked a nearby location. It was only about a 25 minute drive into town, where we spent the day visiting the university, shopping and enjoying dinner. There was a grocery store nearby where we picked up breakfast supplies. We especially appreciated the onsite parking."

"We appreciated the comfort, the décor, and the details we discovered. The fact that it was warm upon arrival. We found the village picturesque and enjoyed the peace we experienced during our stay. We had a little difficulty on arrival because there was a no entry sign across the road leading to the village and we went past it. We eventually found our way and had to swerve round the barrier. Had we been told about this, we would have found the village more easily. The once abandoned hilltop village has been sensitively restored and is now mainly reliant on tourism. Our house was typical - a large picture window with views over wooded hillsides, plenty of solid wooden beams and...

We had a fantastic stay in the Sapentia. We were there for a week and got to know the local area well and built a nice relationship with the staff too. The Hotel is situated in great spot, some of the rooms have great views towards the river. The only issue is parking. The location is on a tiny street adjacent to the University. If you can, don’t have a car. If you do, prepare to have to move to about a bit potentially. The hotel helped us a lot and we managed ok, the car remained, miraculously,...

Really very nice. Just outside the centre and old quarter but easy enough to walk. Parking isn’t private. It’s in the road but easy enough and close enough. I would say a very safe area. Breakfast was on the roof terrace (or inside). Very nice. Decent enough selection. Continental style. Very nicely presented. Room was fairly small but totally sufficient. Bed too hard for me but ok for my husband. We are all different. Very good pillows and linen. Very clean. We walked to a good...
