Just above Zuma Beach in Malibu, the location is wonderful. The establishment, however, is a little worn and can use some upkeep to be a decent value. Also, the pool was sort of open. We could get in, but it had Closed signs all around it, and it was not that warm. In our booking, we were led to believe the pool was fully functional, with social distancing, of course. The beds were comfortable, the shower worked fine, but after the shower, the moisture just stayed in the room. There was swelling in the walls near the molding. It is a steep driveway up to the property. We were directed to parking in back, which is pretty challenging to navigate out of as it is a narrow space. I did like the pretty bougevvilla on the outside of the building, and the roses around the pool were well-kept (although one of the sayings signs in the garden--which was charming--had grammar issues). Though the people at the front desk were friendly, it was very hard to contact the property ahead of time to find out about early check-in and other information.
