Watch internationally acclaimed musicals, attend live music performances and learn about the rich history of this Grade II-listed West End theatre.

London Palladium Theatre is one of the most famous theatres in London’s West End. Built in the early 20th century, the theatre has retained many of its original features. See a production in this storied venue, which has welcomed such prominent stars as Judy Garland, Bing Crosby and Ella Fitzgerald to its stage.

The theatre was first built in 1910 and regularly hosted the celebrated Royal Variety Performance as well as lavish annual pantomimes. During the 1950s and 1970s, the ultra-popular U.K. television variety show Sunday Night at the London Palladium was broadcast from here. Buy tickets for a show to gain access to the auditorium.

Admire the plush red velvet seats, ornate plaster detailing and rose marble finishes of the large venue, which has more than 2,200 seats. Note how the lack of pillars ensures that every audience member enjoys unobstructed views of the stage. The theatre did once have its own revolving stage, though this was later removed in 2002.

Today, the theatre has moved away from its variety venue heritage and tends to show musical theatre and live music performances instead. Check the website to discover what is being staged here during your trip. Enjoy a pre- or post-show drink in one of the theatre’s two lavishly decorated bars.

This theatre is near many other famous West End theatres, including the Prince Edward Theatre and the Cambridge Theatre. Walk from here to the Apollo Theatre, an Edwardian-style playhouse with a programme of modern dramas and classic plays. Find many traditional English pubs and award-winning restaurants for a pre-theatre meal just a short stroll away.

The London Palladium Theatre is in the City of Westminster in central London. To get here, ride the Tube to Oxford Circus station. Choose from many luxurious five-star hotels and less expensive self-catered apartments nearby.
