The accommodation was poor. It was a room in a separate building next to the main complex entirely unstaffed. The room was over furnished and cramped (no need for a writing desk or two chairs in a small twin room). The room was not clean - discarded painkillers under the bed was disappointing to find along with receipts and wrappers. The floor squeaks and the fixtures (like socket covers) are not attached properly. The facilities were good, I am an ex member and this has always been the attraction of using the Lensbury for a place to stay, but this is not the first time that the accommodation has been disappointing from the point of view that it is not cleaned properly. I left an empty crisp packet in the bed as a test...sure enough, still there after the bed had been made. I would suggest emptying the bulky furniture out the room that is not needed so that proper cleaning can be done. Lastly, this was a twin room, so why one set of towels, one tumbler and one set of toiletries...but 4 mugs! Badly thought out and made for an uncomfortable stay.
