We chose the Black Lion as we prefer to stay and eat in establishments that do not allow dogs and there aren't many now ( I know some people would disagree and want to take their dogs everywhere but we all need a place we can feel comfortable in and every other venue in town seems to accept dogs now so dog owners have plenty of options). We had a meal in the bar which was excellent quality and breakfast was included in our stay with plenty of choices available. Attention to detail in the refurb of the building is a credit to the owners and staff. It is just a beautiful building! Last but not least every member of staff we met were friendly, engaging and professional so all in all a fabulous stay and I would highly recommend. Hospitality like it used to be!
