About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Cabin #1, Waterfront, Onalaska, Lake Livingston, Texas

Cabin #1 is our Mom’s favorite cabin. It seems made just for that romantic couple, or just one, getting away for rest and relaxation, is super nice, right in front of the water, has old ship lap exterior siding, knotty pine interior, full kitchen with hickory cabinets/white marble counter, tile shower bathroom, queen log bed, large covered porch right at waterfront which opens to full 23 mile long Lake Livingston.

There are 3 piers, 4 boat slips, boat launch, 2 fish cleaning stations, and various small craft row boat, kayaks, canoes for rent.

We also offer;
> small craft rentals at $35/day per kayak, canoe, &or row boat.
> Jon boat w/trolling motor, 2 batteries, paddle and life vests at $50 for 4 hours, $10 (for each additional hour), or all day $75.
> pontoon boat rental when available w/ captain for touring, fishing trip, and or family fun $175 (up to 4 people for fishing approx 3 to 4 hours, or up to 6 people fir 2 hiur tour, extra $15 per adult after 3rd).

The entire property has 5 cabins. This cabin is the coziest at 350sqft but is open studio type layout making it still spacious for a couple on vacation. Please see the pictures at the bottom of the picture list to see the rest of our cabins which are bigger 500 sqft, 4 person, 5 person, and yet the largest is 800 sqft 2-story cabin for up to 7 people.

In addition we have 8 RV sites, boat & boat slips, and FM 356 near.

Other cabins and their availability are at;

cabin 2, 2bdrm, sleeps 4, at Vrbo: 1323933

cabin 3, 2bdrm, sleeps 5, at Vrbo: 1340797

Cabin 4, 2bdrm + loft, sleeps 7

cabin 5, 2bdrm, sleeps 4, at Vrbo: 9464533

Cabin has double wood siding interior & exterior that keeps it quiet inside, good people & rules make it great or we help enforce quiet time rules. FM 356 traffic is normally quiet at night but can have some traffic noise during day.

Also not in cabins and or not normally any nuisance to people, but guests should be aware that we are on a natural lake and there can be in wetlands area across the street or in brush, snakes, spiders, snapper turtles, alligator across the bridge, hawks, eagles, raccoons, etc. No real danger but occasionally for a couple days usually in spring or early summer, mom alligator will come and drop baby alligator hear every couple years then leaves, baby tends to be about 3’ to 3.5’ when this happens, is too small to be issue, can only eat size of bullfrogs at this time, is kind of fun but then normally leaves as well within a few weeks cuz too much activity from us. Parks & Wildlife and licensed trappers both said to leave them alone when this small, just do what we do keep swimming and boating because most the little one can do is eat bullfrog and will leave to find different home if we keep up our activities. And for 8 years we’ve seen they are correct.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was my husband and 2 dogs. There were other people on the property but it's so quiet, you feel like you are there alone. And although the county had a burn ban and the lake levels were very low, our host reached out the day of our arrival to let us know of the changes. Very cute cabin, clean, really nice parks nearby to go exploring.

Description as described. Cabin was cute and comfortable. It rained during our stay, so not much fishing was done and the lake was bit low- no fault of the owners. However, the property was muddy from getting to and from cabin to vehicle. The owners very responsive and friendly.

Our one rom cabin had super views of the lake and sky from front porch and enough room to be together and reconnect. The cabins are setup with everything you could need for a stay. Planning our next trip back with friends in a larger cabin.

I stayed in this adorable cabin for a month. The place is rustic but cozy and peaceful. The hosts are very nice and extremely helpful. The cottage looks exactly like the pictures.

Overall this was a nice weekend getaway. The cabins are fairly close together but everyone was respectful of each other. The cabin had everything we needed to make our own food that we brought. The location is fairly isolated so if you are looking to get away from the city and enjoy some fishing and cooking out, this is a great spot.

My husband and myself were celebrating our two year wedding anniversary. This place was exactly as listed. Clean and very quaint. Super comfortable. Perfect for what we needed. We fished right off the pier. The owner was super nice and greeted us. We will definitely be going back. Every one we encountered was super friendly. Local eats were delicious. Beautiful scenery.

Property is right on the lake. Various boat rentals very reasonable. Cottage was clean and well stocked with basic pantry items and cookware. Bed comfortable. Hosts were fantastic. Internet tv a bit problematic. Would come again to stay.

We had an amazing time. The cabin was really neat, with every amenity we could have thought about needing or wanting. Fishing was great. Caught a few catfish, a striper, and one fresh water drum. Loved watching the shad come in, and the cranes around the property. Plenty of outside chairs to laze around the outside. Very comfortable. Very Happy with our stay!! Thank you for having us. We will be back! 😊

We had to cancel due to lack of water, however, we plan on returning when the water is back . It is a lovely cabin and lake area. The manager ( Rick ) was amazing understanding . We are looking forward to come back and enjoy this place .

The cabin was tiny but generally clean and well appointed. Hot water availability was inconsistent. The humidity in the cabin was uncomfortable even though the air conditioner ran nonstop. The property is located next to a busy highway, so all you could hear was traffic day and night. Who wants to sit outside and listen to traffic? Also, the outdoor amenities were dirty. If you wanted to sit outside you would need to do a major cleaning of the furniture. For the price, this is unacceptable. If you want seclusion, this is not the place - all the cabins are very close together. Don't go to this lake for bass fishing. The lake is quite shallow (2-3 ft.) in the places bass would hang out, too shallow for a trolling motor. I should have done better research. Overall, I couldn't wait to go home.

First off let me say that when we arrived there was a fork and coffee mug left in the sink. Regardless if they were clean, that is not the point. Second, multiple blinds were broke so we had to put bags and pillows in the way to keep people from seeing inside our cabin.furniture outside was dirty so I had to wipe it clean to sit down( We stayed at cabin 1 by the way).Then the pontoon boat was broke so we couldn’t use that, there wasn’t any paddle boats as posted and described in the photos and posting. My husband and I decided we would take a jon boat ride so Rick showed us how and multiple items were broken. Rick even made a comment to my husband watch out lowering the boat from the lift and hold the hoist closed all the way or you can get shocked…. Get your stuff fixed. We had such a bad time that we left a day early.
