As cold as it was outside, the hosts bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. This was such a cute place to stay and the view was awesome!
Delightful house situated near many beautiful horse ranches and very close to two of the nicest distilleries around. House was well appointed and comfortable. Our hostess was welcoming and responsive. We would stay again without hesitation.
This little farmhouse was a great place to get away for a long weekend. Short drive to many different distilleries and downtown Frankfort. Nice outdoor areas to relax and watch the deer wander pass.
This house was very clean and put together perfectly. They had everything you would want for a weekend stay. The host was very good at communicating everything with us.
The Farmhouse Cottage was perfect for our Derby weekend stay. The house is well-appointed with lots of special touches to make your stay more comfortable. It feels like staying in someone's home, not just any Vrbo. It has a rural feel, but is close to many attractions. Views from the porch are incredible, and a great place to drink a cup of coffee while watching the cows. Checking in and out were very easy, and the host was responsive.
The home was clean and quiet. It’s centrally located being only minutes from Wild Turkey, Four Roses, Larriken, Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace and other distilleries. A great restaurant (The Stace)is close as well. Wonderful food & bourbon bar. I highly recommend this home.
The house has old farmhouse feel, like a trip back in time to Grandma's. Well furnished with everything a couple or small family needs for a lengthy stay. Beautiful rolling hills view from covered back deck and the only sound is cattle in the distance. Perfect getaway in center of bourbon country.

quiet country living close to bourbon distilleries. Definitely need a car to get to towns for dining etc.
Home was like staying at Grandma house - charming.
Very well stocked with everything you can think of.
We enjoyed nighly fires around the fire pit in the backyard - just lovely.
Take a step back into the 1940s in this delightful cottage with appropriately selected modern conveniences. Enjoy the rural environment while being just moments from sevetal of the most popular distilleries.
The location was perfect, away from the traffic and city noise we are used to living near Chicago. Darlene has a wonderful eye for decorating as the inside of the home was beautiful. Everything we needed, except for a few meals purchased at a grocery store, was provided. We so appreciated just sitting on either the front or rear porch and enjoying nature.
The location was convenient to town, wineries, and distilleries, although off the beaten path. The charming house allowed for relaxation in a quiet setting surrounded by fields of cows and deer grazing each night. The host was responsive if contacted. We had all of the comforts of home and found it very relaxing.
Love this beautiful quaint cottage. It was perfect as usual. We had a blast. Loved sitting on the back porch and watching the deer in the evenings and early mornings. It brings a sense of peace to be there. So excited that this property was available again this year. I would highly recommend!
This property is an amazing vintage farmhouse cottage set in a farming community with quick access to distilleries and horse farms. Deer grazed in the yard every night. The drive to the property is picturesque. The house was furnished with country antiques and had all the kitchen and bath amenities you would need. My sister and I loved it!
Came in town for an event and had a wonderful stay. The property made you feel like you were at home. It was clean and quite comfortable. Loved the quiet surroundings. We sat a lot either on the back porch watching the cows or sitting out on their front porch enjoying the cool weather. If you are coming to this area, and looking for a relaxing, peaceful get away, I would highly recommend this property. It was excellent and I hope to stay there again on my next visit to KY.

Oh, this was just what we needed. The farm was the perfect decompression location. We could hear cows, geese - the deer were all over the backyard. The area was quiet. The cottage was adorable. I felt like I was at my grandma's house - so comforting. If you need a place to go away from the city, this is where you need to go. We were able to chat with the host; she was great.
Peaceful cottage in the heart of bourbon and horse country
The house is more charming and spacious than the pictures convey. We had our morning coffee on the covered back porch while enjoying the sunrise. We spent our evenings on the covered front porch watching does and spotted fawns ramble about while we waited for the sunset. The house is only 2.4 miles from Woodford Distillery, 3.7 from Castle & Key, 5.7 miles from Godolphin Horse Farm (birthplace of Cody's Wish) and 11 miles from both Buffalo Trace Distillery and Wallace Station. The house's location made it easy to stop between tours to rest and grab a snack. We never felt hurried to get from place to place and looked forward to coming back each evening. If you're a Woodford fan, this is the house for you.
This isn't a great home - it's a country cabin in a great place. It's as far from "city" as you can get and still be in the middle of horse and bourbon country. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful and yet close enough to all the tourist amenities. The road in is a small adventure. Sit on the porch. Watch the critters - we saw more deer and turkeys than cows and horses. Drink some bourbon. Smile. Skip dinner at Tony's and make reservations at The Stave, instead. We never met our host but she is highly responsive if you have questions or need something. A+!
If the word "Rural" scares you, this VRBO may not be for you.If you have concerns about the word "Rustic", this VRBO might not be for you.If the word "Concierge" is in your vocabulary, this VRBO may not be for you.HOWEVER...If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, are searching for a peaceful, tranquil escape in an idyllic location with a lovely back porch overlooking the rolling hills of Classic Kentucky, Your own private fire pit, more cows than people, the possibility of seeing deer, turkey, goats, and horses in the fields next door, if you want to be a mere stone's throw away from SEVERAL of the areas finest Bourbon distilleries and a short drive to the heart of Frankfort, book this location now. Now, this house is older, classic Kentucky. It is settling a bit as older houses do. The hardwood floors are a BIT uneven but drink enough Bourbon and you'll be fine! ;) There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom which connects to one of the bedrooms and the kitchen. (Interesting floorplan, we love it, but we're weird like that,)No problem, Open the bathroom window a crack for..."ventilation"Seriously though, Rustic, Rural, Quaint, close to Buffalo Trace, Castle & Key, Glenn's Creek, and Woodford distilleries, close to downtown AND a wonderful restaurant, "The Stave" is on your way in and out of the location. Don't be fooled by the outside look of this restaurant, GO THERE.All in all, a lovely location and relaxing vacation.Book this place.
