The hotel was impossible to contact per phone prior the stay when I wanted to confirm some amenities. The staff at the check in was overwhelmed, very slow. Room availability was delayed for 2 hrs. As a gesture, I did get a bar voucher for the same day. The room was quiet big but its definitely outdated, the painting and furniture is chipped. The bathroom would need a redo and the bedding (mattress and "pillows") would need to be changed. No extra pillows available. Had to insist twice the next day. No indication to the only option of buffet for 56CHF per person for onsite dining. The breakfast buffet was very chaotic, people were definitely not respecting social distancing, everyone grabbing the food with the same tools, coffee machines (2 machines for the 3 serving rooms) with German menu and no cleaning gel handy close to them. The food was hardly warm (eggs or pancakes) by the time we got to them. Very crowded in these special covid times! Staff in the breakfast room completely overwhelmed. It doesn't really deserve the 4* at this point, the room was definitely too outdated. And one little bottle of water (0.5L) for 2 people for 2 nights...
