Charming house with views completely refurbished, decor is neat and warm,

Our cottage is an old farmhouse completely redone in 2011, the decor is neat and warm, with lots of light, facing south, (picture windows and velux), all comfort.

Very good stereo, many cd to listen, television and English channels. Dishwasher and washing machine.

The view is clear on the Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi and the glacier Taconnaz, the cottage is facing south, and although we are not far from the white road, the environment is quiet and pleasant.

We are in village area, surrounded by 'year - round' inhabitants, charming and discreet.

Terrace equipped with large table, parasol, deck chairs, barbecue and garden. There are 3 bedrooms and sleeps 7, but there is no dining table inside so we consider it perfect and very comfortable for 5 people.
Attention there is 50 € cleaning fee in addition to pay directly to the person who takes care of it at the end of the stay.

Important note: Only one animal (well educated) per stay is allowed on the property. The prior authorization of the owner is necessary.

Magnifique petit chalet près de Chamonix
Petit chalet adorable aux Houches, avec vue extraordinaire sur le Pic du Midi, confortable et propre pour 6 personnes à 5mn en voiture ou en bus de Chamonix. Nous avons passé une super semaine en famille. Plein d’activités à proximité. Notre hôte, Jean-Pierre, est plein de petites ressources (ses notes sur ses cahiers à propos des restaurants ont été très précieuses.) Très serviable, il nous accueillis avec une bouteille de rosé et nous a aidés avec pleins d’infos. Point fort de cette location outre la maison: tous les petits produits nécessaires (sel, huile, café…et plus) sont présents dès votre arrivée, ce qui permet de s’installer et de profiter tout de suite de la maison. Il suffit juste de les remplacer lors de votre départ. Seul bémol, le chalet est situé près de la route principale qui mène à Chamonix et peut être parfois bruyant le soir avec les voitures qui passent (nullement dangereux) mais ce n’est pas l’aéroport non plus. Points forts: sa vue, sa location à proximité de Chamonix, sa connection wifi, sa beauté et son confort. Nous y reviendrons quand nous séjournerons une nouvelle fois sur les Houches.

A really good place, particularly enjoyed the garden with the views and being able to sit 6 at table in the garden. Very much appreciated the upside down nature of the building - living upstairs, beds downstairs, as it meant there was a cool place to sleep. It was good for the six of us because the weather was mainly excellent, so we had nearly every meal outside. However, we would have had trouble seating 6 of us inside for meals, as the breakfast bar only had 4 chairs and there was no other dining table! So maybe this should be changed - would be a squash for 6 in the winter! Also please think about the thickness of the duvets! The duvet we had on our bed was far too hot in August even in the cool downstairs. The only alternative was to sleep under the duvet cover and a not full-sized blanket, which is what we did. So please consider making the bed covering more flexible for the user in terms of temperature control. We had a great time - thank you very much.

Fantastic Chalet, great views
We stayed for a week at Chalet Vrai departing.on the 24th February. The chalet lived up to expectations and was very comfortable. There were a couple of things we didn’t realise were included such as dishwasher and washing machine, which were both very handy. On arrival and following our GPS the road leading to the chalet is on a steep incline and is very icy. Not having snow chains or a 4 wheel drive vehicle we couldn’t drive up this hill. Luckily we found another route to the Chalet from the opposite end of the road which was a lot easier to drive on so we were able to get the car to the chalet. Worth noting this in future as this was a little stressful. The views of the mountains are fantastic and we enjoyed a week of skiing in Les Houches. The ski bus is a few minutes walk from the chalet however we chose to drive to the ski lift areas. We paid extra in the chalet for linen and towels, which I was told was optional but worth bringing your own towels if you like large bath towels like we do. Plenty of room in the chalet for the 5 of us (3 kids and 2 adults) WiFi was good. Improvements that could’ve been made if I was being honest were: more/ better towels, washing up liquid for guests to use and a couple of dishwasher tablets to get you started, grit or salt available for the drive/ footpath as we slipped many a time, English speaking tv channels ( however we used our Netflix subscription so wasn’t a major issue) There may have been more info in the book for guests to use but if there was anything important it would’ve been sensible to be in English too. Lovely showers to use at the end of a hard days skiing and just about enough hot water for the five of us. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. The hosts and cleaner have been very helpful and lovely too. Thank you

Breathtaking views
Lovely warm and clean chalet with fabulous views beautiful artwork and everything you need in a property. As the living room is upstairs the ceiling is quite low for getting on and off the sofa, but you soon get used to it. The chalet us very close to the main road but when you're inside you wouldn't know. Valerie was most helpful and very quick to respond to any questions.

The chalet was perfect for our stay just a 10 minute drive from Chamonix & fabulous views from the garden .It was clean & well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay.We had a slight problem with communication regarding information to access the property but this was resolved quickly

We really enjoyed the area and did lots of hiking and some SUP also at Lac de Passy, overall fab!
We loved the chalet which was very conveniently located, amenities were great also, we would definitely stay again, we ate outside most days and also used the sun loungers to rest after our 4/5 hour hikes. The owners were really friendly as was M who helps out also, very much recommended for a relaxing holiday.

Lovely chalet, lovely alpine holiday!
We had wonderful stay over 2.5 weeks in March 2018. The chalet itself has a pleasant, warm and homely ambience, with masses of natural light in the main living area streaming in through the various windows. The views from the house are truly awesome. The chalet is charming, adorned with nice artwork and equipped to a good standard. The 3 bedrooms and bathroom are all downstairs, with the main bedroom being of a particularly good size, nice and bright. The accommodation is comfortable and well heated, and very quiet, in spite of being quite close to the main road. There is a bakery just 2 minutes walk away which was hugely convenient for fresh bread in the morning, pastries in the afternoon... We brought our Bernese Mountain dog with us: she quickly felt right at home and was clearly very happy there too! Communications with the owners, and locally with Monique, were very helpful, and everything went extremely smoothly. We all had a great holiday.
