This property is definitely a 5 star worth. Anything what is in the listing is there plus more. The view, birds and the outdoor porch gives you definitely things to see anytime of the day.
Close drive to the national and provincial parks.
This cottage was perfect for our stay with two teens. The 300 degree views of the water are simply spectacular- like nothing I’ve ever seen. We loved checking out the birds, the lake and exploring Point Pelee National Park. Also super drivable to other local gems like wineries and markets. We’ll definitely be back!
The setting was beautiful! Water on three sides and picture windows to take full advantage. During the migration, great bird watching. Host was quickly responded when contacted.
The birdlife was incredible and the views were spectacular! We spent most of our time just enjoying being there. A trip to Pt. Pelee was a nice place to visit ( we enjoyed the long boardwalk trail) although we didn’t see as many birds there as we did at the cottage!
When we first arrived we realized it was exactly like the pictures. Inside extremely neat and clean. We had an enjoyable vacation and met a few neighbours who told us about the area's history. All in all. 10/10
This spot is breath taking. Quiet and tranquil. Watching the sun rise with a coffee on the exspansive deck or sunset on the front porch. The cottage is perfectly appointed with everything you need. Perfect spot to unwind.
Great and amazing outdoor space
Lovely cottage
Very tiny bedrooms but good living space nice to have two separate sitting areas indoors both with great water views
Felt there could have been more cooking supplies such as condiments and spices etc
Fabulous location Really great To have park pass super convenient to leamington also etc
Very quiet surrounded by nature at a dead end of road- feels remote but is actually very convenient to leamington, Wheatley, Kingsville, point pelee park et
Really enjoyed my stay. The property is the last one on the road surrounded by Lake Erie to the east and a wetland to the west. The deck wraps around the house. Enjoyed both amazing sunrises and sunsets. Loved falling asleep to the sounds of crashing waves. The only knock were the flies and mosquitoes but that's part of being in nature. Note bring a sweater as it's always cooler by the lake
From the moment I booked to the moment I arrived, with my best friend, my first VRBO experience as spectacular. Our host was the best and answered all my questions. The cottage is everything and more, Eagles, Egrets, Herons, Garnets, Sunsets, Sunrises, I'm totally coming back. My only comment would be to upgrade the utensils and kitchen pots & pans. Thank you so much!
Words cannot describe the beauty of this place. Exceptionally well decorated but not cluttered, in the best location imaginable. Right on the lake surrounded by water on three sides, birds, galore, extremely clean. Yes it is a bit small but that’s part of the point of it. If it were large, you wouldn’t get a few from every single room, nor would it be as special. This is the most exceptional place. Don’t hesitate to you will love every moment. Also, the owner is very responsive and generous.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the spectacular views over Lake Erie. So close to the lake that you can imagine you’re on a boat! Beautiful new deck. The listing and photos are very accurate. Location is amazing, as it’s 15 minutes to Leamington for groceries and about the same to Point Pelee National Park. Buy your gas at Caldwell Gas (First Nations) on Mersea Rd 1! Far cheaper than anywhere else in the area! The only reason I could not give a full 5 stars is kitchen equipment is lacking and could easily be fixed. Some measuring cups and spoons, a whisk, some large bowls, aluminum foil, a cutting board a grater and a regular coffee maker would be helpful. There is a single cup Keurig machine that takes the plastic K-cups. We cooked and grilled a lot, so it depends on what you need. The internet was variable. Generally good in the morning, but slower in the evening. The property was clean with very nice finishings. I would highly recommend this property!
WOW!!! That’s the word my husband and I kept saying throughout our week stay at this AMAZING rental!1. Cabin: Absolutely charming & exactly what you see in the pics. However, no photo of the view will ever do the real thing justice…literally EVERY ANGLE is breathtaking. We saw birds, fish, turtles, sunsets & even lightning…as casual American birders, we got SEVEN lifers just hanging out on the beautiful deck!2. Accommodations: The living/dining/bathroom are wonderful (we didn’t use the kitchen much) The beds/rooms are small so we slept separately (we’re 6’ & 6’4” so it would have been hilarious to cram us into one) - however, the beds/linens were clean & comfy! 3. Area: It was AMAZING being the last house on the road - felt totally secluded, even when people came to launch kayaks on the other side of the street. Everything is about a 20-min drive, & we picked up food & went to Point Pelee often (we HIGHLY recommend Moonlight Grill & Lounge and Joey’s Seafood)4. Communication: Frank/Suzy are so friendly & promptly answered all our questions. We had an issue with a park pass & Suzy literally drove a new one out to us right then! Frank went above & beyond to accommodate our requests, which made our vacation even more special! 5. We recommend bringing: side tables, fans, & extension cords for bedrooms. Condiments (there’s salt/pepper only). Bug tent (didn’t use it, but bugs got worse thru the week, so glad we had it)Thanks! We’re already planning our next visit!

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Disliked: Check-in, listing accuracy
Unsurpassed beauty but lacks maintenance
The cottage was the last one in the row and is surrounded by Lake Erie, enabling you to see the lake on three sides with a lovely, long deck on all three sides.
There are about a dozen large urns spaced along the decks with identical gorgeous palms and crimson flowers in each one. Gorgeous!
Security lights flashed off and on every 2 minutes, making it hard to sleep.
Some receptacles did not work.
Silverware drawer almost falls out when you open it.
There was no toaster.
There was only a Keurig coffee maker but no Keurig 'cups' were supplied until we phoned the manager. The person who delivered the cups did not know how to solve the security light problem, and any advice given on the phone did not work as the labelling on the fuse box was so faint you could not read it.
No one actually came to fix any of the problems but only offered advice that did not work.
The large bottom drawer in vanity in bathroom would not close and stuck out in the way.
The bathroom sink stopper did not work.
Because the bedrooms were small, they are not suitable for seniors as convenient access to the other side was about impossible.
There is a 10-12" step from the kitchen to the rest of the cottage and the dining area.
The comfy stuffed chairs were beautiful but if you reclined in them, to close them was almost impossible. There is no lever like Lazy-boys but you have to kick the front harder to close than any senior can.
There is a tiny beach opposite the cottage which we enjoyed.
We had a fantastic stay. Truly a unique property with water on 3 sides- the sounds of waves feeling more like ocean surf! Sunrise and sunsets were amazing! And the birds were incredible even in the off season. Easy drive to Point Pelee Natuonal Park with the park pass an added bonus.
We loved the cottage we stayed in , very clean and inviting and warm. The sounds of the water around you and many birds nearby. Sunrise and sunset were amazing. Very close to Point Pelee Park.Would highly recommend cottage to anyone and hope to return one day. Thank you Frank for the opportunity to stay at your cottage. We loved it!
This is a nice bright space. The views were amazing. We found the seating in all areas to be good. The 2 bedrooms are small but the beds were comfy. Great outside spaces. All in all, it was a better experience than we expected.
Property is truly a " Birder's Paradise". The cottage was as described and had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving week-end getaway. My husband especially loved the showerhead in the bathroom. The views were spectacular from sunrise to sunset. We took our dog with us and he loved sitting on the deck and watching all the birds. We spent a day at Point Pelee using the complimentary pass provided by the host.
