Newly updated throughout and with attention to detail, this property will make you feel at home. Located just a few miles north of Leadville, Star of the West is the definition of a mountain retreat! Access wireless internet throughout the house, TV, and DVD player for the whole family. County-plowed roads allow easier access and it's only 30 minutes from World Class restaurants and ski resorts in Vail, not to mention Leadville's own Ski Cooper is only 1 mile away! This is the perfect setting for your vacation! The living room with a fireplace opens to a large deck for entertaining or relaxing. You must see this property!

Please note, the owner does not provide firewood. Firewood can be purchased at many places in Leadville including Safeway and Mt Massive Liquors.

Great location, plenty of beautiful snow! Beautiful views from every window. Well-stocked, comfy beds, nice touches like games and kitchen spices to make it feel like home. Friendly neighbors(we are chatty and met a few on our walks). Groomed trail down the street. No complaints here at all!!

A relaxing and quiet getaway!

We wanted a getaway in the woods with stars and that’s exactly what we got! The kitchen has all the basics and more. The beds are comfortable and the cabin is exactly as pictured. The deck overlooks a nice lake and there are friendly squirrels and the hummingbirds are amazing! I highly recommended this location for a quiet getaway!

Beautiful, quiet, cozy, convenient!

LOVED this cabin! Morning views of the pond, lots of trees, tucked in a quiet neighborhood. Everything we needed in the kitchen for meals. Upstairs is roomy but the bathroom is a little tight. Perfect location to access all the hikes we had planned. Easy drive to Minturn or BV. Would absolutely stay again. My friends couldn’t believe this was in our budget ❤️

Cute, quiet cabin

My best friend and I stayed here for a couple of days. It’s the perfect getaway. We loved the deck and view of the pond. There were no neighbors around at the time so it was very quiet. Had everything we needed. Prop manager was helpful with the door code. Thank you! We will recommend to our friends and family.

Nice and warm cabin

Overall we had a great time. It was very warm, clean, and spacious. It would be nice to have pepper and not have to wash sheets, do dishes, and take out trash for the price of the stay. Also we could not ever get ahold of anyone. When I wrote a question it was never acknowledged or answered.

Cozy Cabin with all the conveniences

One of us had stayed before, so a repeat visit for them. Short drive from downtown Leadville. Very well maintained home with all kitchenware you may need, and it's all very clean! A tidy, well loved cabin. Deck overlooking pond is beautiful, we love the light and reflection. Quiet neighborhood. Would return for sure! One small caveat, we found difficulty with streaming. We were able to text and check email from phones, so that works!

Some 👍, some could use attention

Loved the location. Beautiful view from deck and fire pit area. Less than 10 min to Colorado Trail/CDT Tennessee pass trailhead which was why we chose this area for a day hike. Updated kitchen very nice and loved the layout and appreciated the washer/dryer. There was water damage near the fireplace and mold was an issue. A ceiling fan in the bedroom would be nice. Just seemed stuffy. Trail to the lake was short but very steep/slick with pine needles (yes, I fell). There are remnants of steps that would make it much easier/safer if they were redone. Looked forward to using the canoe, but didn’t want to chance another fall

Beautiful Property Nice Location

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. The kitchen was really nice and had all the dishes and pans we needed. The location was perfect, so close to Ski Cooper and 30 minutes from Copper Mt. We conveniently got groceries in Leadville,15 min away. The road and driveway had been plowed, but we were glad we had a 4x4 to get through the neighborhood and not get stuck in the driveway turning around. The company was quickly responsive and helped me when I didn’t find the guest book text I forgot I received, which had the instructions for gaining access to the cabin. The WiFi at the cabin worked fine. There were a few places that weren’t super clean, but it was a lovely place to stay! We enjoyed a fire in the woodburner two nights, and used the gas grill outside to cook chicken once. So nice that it was hooked up even in the winter. We’d recommend this cabin to others and hope we can come again

Nice, quiet woodsy cabin needs better attention to details

We were happy with our overall stay but not so impressed with the lack of attention to maintenance. Had to grab a broom and sweep visible cobwebs in the corners along the ceiling. The view was great but not as enjoyable with dirty windows and screens. The blinds on couple of the windows were not operable and dusty. Broken lid on the toilet which would fall. Loose hinges on the cabinets. Burnt out bulbs on the deck so not much lighting in the evenings. The kitchen is well stocked but the pots and pens not safe to use, scratched up and burned. The dryer vent was plugged up so we had to clean it before use. The deck is nice but the table and chairs uncomfortable and very dirty. Finally the back door lock did not work, we could not secure the place fully when we were out but it worked in our favor when the code for the front door didn’t work the next day. We probably wouldn’t stay here again but if they can up their maintenance and cleaning it can be a great place to stay. Beds were comfortable, great dining room table for a group of six.

Great stay, just outside Leadville

Cabin was wonderfully kept and a great location outside of town. Met all my needs and then some. Would recommend for anyone coming to the are, had a whole second bedroom upstairs that I never used!!
