it's in the middle of the park, it's above cabin camping in my eyes so with that said it is great location in order for you to check out the cave dwellings we did 3 tours and some on our own. you only need 2 days to do the park

Good place to stay if you are touring Mesa Verde Ruins as it is directly in the park. Very convenient to stay here. AC in room wasn’t great but the rooms was clean. There was no TV In the room. On Wednesday evenings they have live music on the terrace so that was nice!

This place was fantastic! The view was fabulous, it’s so peaceful and convenient being right in the middle of a national park, and the location made it easy to get some work done while fitting in tours and sight seeing throughout the afternoon. The staff were wonderful and the restaurant with the view is top notch. I’m so glad that I found this gem- it really was the highlight of my trip to Mesa Verde National Park

We really appreciated the location; it's very close to the Cliff House and Mesa Top loops. There were also great views from our room. The two options for on-site restaurants also have fantastic views and the staff were very friendly and attentive. These attributes made it easier to forgive other aspects of our stay: dirty windows, a dirty bathroom floor, broken soap dispenser, towels that had holes in them, lumpy pillows, peeling wall paint, very thin walls, bird droppings on the patio furniture. We are generally pretty relaxed about budget accommodations, but anyone booking here should be prepared for rooms that need some TLC.

Loved staying right in Bational Park. Getting g to tours super-easy! Room with terrace has beautiful view of Dark Sky. Hot shower, nice enough shampoo etc. Loved the restaurant (Lawrence was our server). Cute amenities we didn’t get to use — billiards, library, board games. Hope to come back and stay again someday!

Beautiful view. Great staff. The only issue was that the cleanliness was not up to par. The back terrace had mouse droppings all over it and the shower was mildewed.

We stayed a few days before Memorial Day weekend, and the end of their “off season.” Our room was fairly clean but the appliances (small fridge and coffee maker) did not work due to a bad outlet. Many of the sites were closed due to the off season and road repairs. The outside lights by the rooms were too bright for any sort of appreciation of their recognition as a Dark Sky Destination. Food in the Lodge was good but the bathrooms in the Lodge and Terrace needed some cleaning attention. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The location was fantastic with beautiful views and comfortable beds. That said the room could’ve used a little more attention, three towels for four people, coffee maker, but no cups and at best nine minutes of hot water. Only one of us got to take a hot shower each day while the others took cold survival showers. We are also disappointed to find the casual dining option closed despite it saying online and confirming with several phone calls that it would be open. Our party with young children felt somewhat forced into dining in the more upscale Metate room. Based on the beautiful location, I would still recommend it, but be prepared for some of the issues.

The rooms are small and could you upgrades. The bathroom was tiny and the toilet low and the seat barely large enough to accommodate one's derriere. I suspect someone of abundant corpulence would have great difficulty using the toilet. Likewise the shower was tiny barely allowing one person to fit inside. Because of the remoteness of the location there is no tv. The wifi worked ok. It took 3 trips back to the front desk to get the card key to work. If returning to Mesa Verde, I would probably stay there because of the convenience of close proximity to the cliff dwellings. However, I would stay only one night.
