Grand Wailea Maui, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

"It’s a great gateway with direct access to beach and great amenities. Do keep a day for the pool resort because it’s one of the best you will experience. The ocean view from our room was great. The only gap is the communication from the staff. We booked a Deluxe Ocean view room. The day we arrived they said they are upgrading us to Napua access room. Our understanding was that it should have ocean view because that’s what we booked but the room they gave us hardly had a corner view of ocean from the balcony. Later that day we reached out asking we booked ocean view but in upgrade it’s a partial ocean view. At that moment they said they are sold out on Ocean view room. It was confusing to us like how can you be sold out on a room we already booked month ago. We asked we don’t want any upgrades just give us the room we booked because the upgraded Napua room had nothing additional more than access to a lounge with compliments breakfast but hardly any views. Next day they finally gave us the room we booked and definitely the view from this room was amazing."
