The house was perfect my husband and I. Clean and beautiful inside. Having the full wall of windows was wonderful to be able to look outside at all that nature has to offer. We enjoyed the hot tub and rocking chairs outside. Everything was so peaceful and quiet. Perfect getaway.

New house. Beautiful views of the woods from the living room and bedroom through large windows. Kitchen is capable. Hot tub was great after a hike. Bathroom spacious. Good Wi-Fi. Not sure if we'd stay here again. We'd rather be closer to Cedar Falls and Ash Cave.

Thompson Retreat was the perfect quiet getaway we needed for our hiking getaway.

The location was convenient to several hiking trails. The floor to ceiling windows in the living area showcased the outdoor beauty, even though we were there when the trees were bare. Hot tub and fire pit were both great (plenty of places to purchase firewood). Kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes, and Keurig (with K-cups!). Bathroom was also stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, paper products, and plenty of towels. Large bathroom closet allowed ample space for our bags.

The perfect mix of luxury and serenity.

The cabin was beautiful. My wife and I stayed for our ten year anniversary. It was the perfect weekend getaway. It's 15 minutes or so from a few of the major trails. Same from a local grocery store. The view is fantastic with a very cozy feeling. The hot tub was clean. Everything was as it should be. The fridge is not full size FYI, so if you are staying for a full week, plan accordingly. It was perfect for our weekend though. We will definitely be back.

The Thompson Retreat Cabin

The Thompson Retreat is beautiful, clean, and calm; however, there are a couple issues worth noting. The first problem is that this cabin is on the same property of another smaller cabin, which was not portrayed in the pictures. This definitely made the atmosphere feel less secluded at times when we would get back from a hike and see people leaving their cabin. The other problem is that the cabin capped the lowest AC level at 68. This created some hot nights.
