Nice hotel plenty of facilities

Posted 13-Mar-2017
Pros: The facilities, food and closeness to the beach walk.
Cons: The spa area also requires general upgrading in the pool area.
Location: The hotel was easy to find by car and is close to Playa Blanca Femes is a short drive and all the tourists spots are close by as the island is small.
70th birthday trip for my husband. Lovely hotel even with upgrading works going on. Excellent food and attentive staff. Layout of hotel explained on arrival. Transport of luggage by mini train was not explained properly but minor detail.

Lots of hotel renovations - keep clear

Posted 22-Feb-2017
Pros: The Italian restaurant and Asian restaurant that you can visit instead of the canteen free of charge, which is pretty average. Spa and gym were fab.
Cons: Tell people in advance about renovations, then they can make a decision about whether they go or not.
Location: It's a good 1 hr walk out of the main Playa Blanca, but that isn't a problem at all. It's a flat walk, there are beaches and restaurants along the way
Great hotel, wonderful location, good facilities. Awful renovations going on by reception, by the restaurants x 3, by the pool x 2. At one point there was very few places to go in the hotel to get away from the renovations, which included drills, dust flying across the pools, orange cones everywhere which were left in places to trip over. Men wandering through the sunloungers with wheelbarrows. If there had been ANY notification of renovations I would have gone elsewhere. This is my 3rd stay at an H10 and I have never seen renovations before. We went to the beach each day to keep away from the noise. It was all finished by 5pm so we returned then. There are 7 pools, one is heated to 26C which is still pretty chilly but it was the busiest pool. Food isn't great in the canteen areas. You can use the "posher" and less noisy canteen which was great. Food is the same in both canteens. Coffee is good in Mike's cafe. Views are good from the rooms. Rooms are good, clean, balconies are great. Towels are on a deposit system, but all good. Evening entertainment is ok, good for a short visit.

Great hotel. But would not recommend yet.

Posted 06-Feb-2017
Pros: The room and the restaurant.
Cons: Finish the building work.
At the moment this hotel has a lot of building work going on. The big holiday Groups are giving clients some money back to keep them sweet. We did not know.

Lovely hotel, in a quieter setting.

great value. Village setting, but not suitable for people with walking difficulty. Everyone was exceptionality friendly. Really liked Mike's coffee house and the Italian Restaurant.

Beautiful Hotel... Good for keen Walkers!

Posted 04-Dec-2016
Rooms - tidy, clean, beautifully presented. Had robes, slippers and little necessities of shower gel, dental kit etc. And an espresso machine. We also had a lot of the tiniest wee ants (you are in sunnier climates after all) Location - states playa Blanca hotel. If you like to be central this is not a great hotel. If you like walking it's about 20 minutes walk to the playa flamingo beach & 30minutes to playa Blanca or over an hour to the marina rubicon. The hotel will arrange taxis without a problem. And they are only approx €4.50 to playa Blanca centre. If you are a keen walker definitely recommend as the walk up the promenade is beautiful and peaceful - just don't do it in flip flops lol Staff - fantastic. Very helpful, always smiling. From reception staff, cleaning staff to entertainment - they are all very good! The grounds are fabulous with beautiful pools. Coffee shops and various restaurants in the grounds. The hotel itself is beautiful. Food - plenty to choose from. Good standard. Either go all inclusive or bed & breakfast. All drinks, Lollies etc are added to your room number and you get the bill before you leave. This includes drinks with your meal if you are on a half board option. Recommend - had a great stay!

The condition of the hotel was not to the standard we expected, it is in need of re-ferbishment, the catering hall was very noisy and the food only average. Some of the catering staff were rude to the point of being offensive. We will not be returning to this hotel. Please do not let me put you off visiting Playe Blanca, it is fantastic, we have been there many times and will return next year but not to the Rubicon!!

Great hotel, great pools

Posted 07-Nov-2016
Pros: The ground and pools are lovely. We also really enjoyed the activities - pumpkin carving, foam, water slide, rifle shooting etc.
Cons: The Asian restaurant wasn't great and the American restaurant is okay but hardly a la carte.
Location: The nearest sandy beaches & more touristy areas are around 20 mins walk away but other places of interest are accessible by bus or cab.
The hotel itself is lovely, especially the grounds - there are a number of different pools (heated, kids, salt water etc.) and mostly enough sun beds for all. We had a family room which was a little on the basic side for 4* but fine as we were mostly out and about, however, we only had a small balcony with 2 chairs and there were 4 of us. We were half board and enjoyed the buffet breakfast and evening meals, the a la carte restaurants were a little disappointing (especially the Asian one which served very bland food) but the Italian was excellent. Staff were great, very helpful and very welcoming. A great place to stay.

A fantastic hotel - just a little out of the way!

Posted 07-Nov-2016 on Hotels
Fantastic hotel with great restaurants and bars etc. The only issue we had on checking in was that they required a "voucher" which I didn't have. I showed them a copy of the booking confirmation that showed the hotel was prepaid. I explained that I use hotels.com regularly and have never been asked for a voucher. In the end they simply copied the booking confirmation and didn't make a huge thing of it...
