"Fantastic location if you are visiting Arran. Met on arrival and check-in was no problem. Room was perfect for what we needed and very clean...only tiny issue was the toilet which took AGES to re-fill and was a bit noisy. Breakfast was great and the one member of staff who we dealt with - sorry, didn't ask a name - was absolutely superb, chatty and very efficient. Thank you and would defo use again."

"I recently stayed at The Marine Hotel Troon with my 80-year-old disabled mum as a birthday treat. While we booked a deluxe king room with a sea view, which was pleasant, our stay was overshadowed by serious concerns regarding safety and poor communication. The phone in our second-floor room was not working and was constantly engaged. Given that my mum is disabled, this was completely unacceptable and left me extremely anxious, as I had no way to contact reception in the event of an emergency during the night. To make matters worse, no information about breakfast was provided at check-in, and there was nothing in the room either. I attempted to call reception from around 8pm, but due to the faulty phone, this was impossible. I was eventually forced to go down to reception myself after 10pm just to ask basic questions about breakfast times and location. A staff member did come to the room and confirmed the phone was faulty. I specifically asked to be informed once it had been fixed, yet I received no update whatsoever. By the time we checked out at 10:30am the following morning, the phone was still not working, and no explanation, apology, or follow-up was offered. I find it extremely concerning that a hotel would leave guests—particularly vulnerable guests—without a working means of contacting reception overnight, and then fail to resolve the issue or communicate properly.
