We read all the good reviews and unfortunately, this was not our experience. When we came in the carpeted stairs were stained and the carpets were dirty. Lots of things were in disrepair. The air conditioner was broken (one of the primary reasons we chose this house), the stove burner was broken, the ceiling fan in bedroom hardly worked, there were cobwebs all over the front and back deck and front steps, there were rodent droppings on the deck that I had to clean daily. The outside grill is broken and the TVs are all quirky. On top of that, the owners left a lot of their half eaten food in the pantry in and in the fridge and freezer.
Everywhere the materials say to contact the owners directly if you have a problem. While the owners are responsive, I recommend you go through the VRBO app so you have a record of your issues. It took the owners more than 10 days to fix the air conditioner and VRBO couldn't help more since the communications were not through their app. Lesson learned. We spent endless hours trying to troubleshoot the AC/circuit breaker/air filter with the owners during a massive heat wave and we were treated like property managers vs. guests. The owners told us to run the AC overnight and then later complained about the energy bill. We were told to wait in the house for an entire day during our vacation in order to assist the AC repairman and complained about the cost. They told us to buy fans and that they would reimburse us, which did not happen. Etc...
