6/10 Okay

"Waited an hour in line for check in because we booked through Expedia. Was also told I could not get the first responder discount because I booked through Expedia. Was given a lot of misinformation at check in. I had booked the ultimate food and fun pass for 5 but only 4 of us went. Was told at check in that the extra one could be taken off only to be charged AGAIN the next day. When I asked why I was told to just come to the front desk and insert my card to take care of the balance. Was also told that the $100/night incidental fee was available to be spent on the account when it was not. The food is expensive and the portions are small. Drinks are expensive and non refillable unless you buy the expensive plastic cups."

"Some construction improvements were in progress, ergo, the good rating. The check in desk clerk was wonderful, the next morning clerk, not so much by comparison. Room was excellent. Shower curtain barely went below tub level; I mean barely. The sense of physical security in the parking lot was high, and that was important to me because I had a rear compartment loaded with gear. Can't attest to the breakfast because I was suffering a temporary and painful foot injury and couldn't endure the extra steps over there."

"I liked this hotel. It seems like it was new. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and nice. I felt bad that when we arrived, no one was at the front desk. She was preparing rooms for incoming residents. That's a lot to put on one person. She handled it but corporate get some help. Room was comfortable but the only issue is the pillows are too flexible that makes it hard to sleep on."

"I realized they gave me a master key when I entered the wrong room. I immediately went to the front desk. They were aware they gave me a key that allowed me to enter all the rooms in the hotel. They told me just use it for my room and not enter any other rooms. The next morning, I told the front desk about the master key since there were different staff at the desk. Again I was told that they were aware. That it was just like the key the cleaning staff used. They said that the maintenance person wasn’t in and that was the only way I could enter my room. They did not appear to be fully booked. Not sure why they didn’t move me to another room. The sliding barn style door for the bathroom wasn’t able to be opened from inside the bathroom when fully shut. We got stuck inside and had to be rescued. Thankfully I was not traveling alone and someone was in the room to get me out. The elevator had a delay in the door opening. One of the hotel staff was in the elevator with us and said it happens all the time. That occasionally they get stuck in it for several minutes until it decides to open. I will never stay at this hotel again."

Fish or Relax at "The Oar House" on W.P. Lake

"The listing description indicates a short walk to the lake….this is completely untrue. You have to walk down a very steep and treacherous hill to get to the dock which is very nicely kept. In the other boat house, the plumbing to the sink is not hooked up (it is literally sitting on the other side, just not hooked up). There is nothing telling you not to use it, so of course you turn the water on and it all runs out of the vanity. This is clearly not the first time this has happened as there was mold and mildew growing under the sink. The house and boat house are great spaces and were very accommodating, but the floors had not been mopped in a long time and there was expired food in the refrigerator. I do want to say that the host was easy to work with. We left the place better than we found it - we always do that. Honestly, we would stay there again if the walk to the lake was not so unsafe for older people and children. If you just need a place to stay with your family and don’t care about the lake, this is a great place even with the issues mentioned."
