Hôtel Restaurant l'Aubergade

10/10 Excellent

1840 house in the heart of nature, a haven of peace ideal for groups or families

10/10 Excellent

Bright and comfortable apartment with a view of Gerardmer and its slopes

10/10 Excellent

A large, charming waterfront retreat in Gérardmer. Spa / Sauna / Wi-Fi

8/10 Good

Gîte with private swimming pool heated to 30°C all year round, 15 min from Alsace

10/10 Excellent

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in La Voivre?

The best area to stay in La Voivre is within the village itself, particularly around the church and the main square.

This central part of La Voivre offers a charming, rural experience. You'll find traditional Vosges architecture, often with stone and timber elements. The village is small and easily walkable, with local shops and eateries typically clustered near the Eglise Saint-Maurice and the primary intersections. The surrounding landscape of rolling hills and forests is immediately accessible from here.

Couples looking for a quiet retreat will appreciate staying in the heart of La Voivre. The area provides a peaceful setting for walks and enjoys local cuisine without the hustle and bustle of larger towns. It's an excellent base for exploring the regional natural park and enjoying the relaxed pace of French village life.

Families might also find the village centre appealing due to its tranquil environment and access to outdoor activities. Children can enjoy the open spaces and the proximity to nature, making it easy to embark on walks or bike rides directly from your accommodation.

When is the best time to go to La Voivre?

The best time to go to La Voivre is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During late spring, the countryside around La Voivre is lush and green, and the temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C. This period is superb for enjoying outdoor activities like walking or cycling along the Canal de l'Est, which runs nearby, or exploring the surrounding forests of the Vosges mountains. Local markets begin to offer fresh produce, and the vineyards in the region start to show their first leaves, making it a good time for wine tasting tours without the peak season rush.

Early autumn also offers agreeable weather, with temperatures usually between 12°C and 18°C, and the added beauty of the changing leaves. This is harvest season for many local fruits and vegetables, and it's an excellent time for food lovers to experience regional specialities. The grape harvest in nearby wine regions like Alsace also makes it an exciting time for wine enthusiasts.
