This home offers relaxing ocean views from a private rooftop deck, a patio, laundry, free 2 car garage parking, and a central location for you and your group. Enjoy coastal and beach style living with everything just steps away. You can walk to beaches, restaurants, shops and much more when you stay with us in beautiful La Jolla! Please read the entire description and view the photos! Our goal is to provide an affordable, comfortable launch pad to explore La Jolla. This is a home that has been lived in -- which means there will be normal wear and tear. \*\*IMPORTANT:\*\* The home is located in a residential neighborhood. NO PARTIES and quiet hours are between 10 pm to 8 am. Please be respectful of the neighbors. A/C, which is rarely needed, is not included in the cost of the home by default. Ultimately, we hope you treat and relax in this home as if it were your own. Feel free to message us any concerns or questions you have -- we are happy to help! \==> LAYOUT<== All areas are private to you and your party. There is another building next door, but no areas are shared. It is located within walking distance to the beach and the Main Street of La Jolla. The house itself is spacious with lots of bathrooms and amenities, great for families or a group, but it is a bit dated and tired. We did find an ant trail in the room with the 4 twin beds, some of which were in the bed (spraying for ants is a suggestion). Having a 2 car garage was a godsend for not having to unload his stuff for his move in and security. The house was spacious and walking distance to nearly everything. The view from the roof was awesome and our friends in the area had no issues finding additional parking near the house. We had plenty of tools to cook, but we just didn’t have time to do so, so the breakfast, coffee and dinner restaurants were awesome. I would certainly stay there again, although I do like to stay up late so the noise restrictions after 10:00pm do impact leveraging the rooftop deck or the patio for bbq outdoors. Communication with Nick was great! The place was clean. We loved each of us having our own bathroom so we could get ready, especially considering the tight timelines. I have stayed at many SD properties but this one was really great! There were 9 of us. Two grandparents, our two sons and their wives and 2 three year olds and a 5 year old. The downstairs bedroom with all the twin beds was perfect for the kids. One adult usually stayed in the queen room next door. We laughed when we saw the glass table in the kitchen nook. We stopped laughing when we used it at least twice a day to feed the kids. It was perfect! Talk about a whole drawer of spoons, another drawer just for forks and of course the knives had their own drawer. Then there were so many plates, and shelves of bowls of all sizes. Yes there were lots of wine glasses as well as just glasses and coffee cups. Plenty of trash bags, and lots of toilet paper. Seriously our host was tuned in to what visitors need. We would have loved an ice maker that worked, but we powered through it. So many places to eat within walking distance. It was perfect. ##### Kathy A. Noise is apparently a large concern in this area. Check in was also a bit problematic since the door code was inaccurate in our check in email. We were eight adults and some dogs staying for a week and we were very comfortable. The dining room and the patio table seat eight each. There are plenty of restaurants within few blocks, The sea and some beaches are within 15 min walk. The house is a bit shabby and shows some rug stains, but that is normal for properties that allow dogs. All appliances work and there were no plumbing or electrical problems. Having parking was a great bonus to this property as street parking is difficult in the area. The home is very large and spacious with plenty of room. Could easily accommodate 2 families of 4\. Nick had plenty of accommodations for small children which helped tremendously. Access to the garage was clutch when on street parking was non existent. We went to El Pescador ( in my opinion the best restaurant in La Jolla ) multiple times which you can see from the rooftop patio. Would highly recommend this home for a big family, multiple friends groups, or anyone looking for a cozy residential spot in central La Jolla. ##### Jacob L. We rent homes often when traveling, just wasn't impressed with the interior at all. Location was in walking distance to restaurants etc, but didn't really hang out too much at the house. The location was great. House was very clean and spacious. Communication was good. We stayed when temperatures were 96+ degrees; not Nick’s fault of course. The temps in the house on our first evening at 8pm were 81+ degrees and climbing. We noticed A/C vents and controls, so we contacted Nick. He said he could turn on the A/C if we paid $150 for 2 1/2 days. I’ve never heard of such a thing… ever. Next thing you know we’ll be paying for water and air. ##### Jill M. Stayed 3 nights in Sep 2022 ### 6/10 Okay #### Molly K. 27 Jul 2025 Liked: Check-in, communication, location The furniture on the rooftop deck was not completely usable - several holes in the wicker seating that made them unable to be used.The towels were damp when we arrived and there was wet laundry (sheets) in the washer - we ended up moving it to the dryer so that it wouldn’t start to smell sitting in the washer for the duration of our stay.While sitting on the couch we discovered an old bandaid stuck to a throw pillow (not from us!) and an old piece of tortilla stuck to the top of the couch/wall (again, not from us). The doors/locks were difficult. Many times it took several attempts to get the locks to work right and the doors stick quite a bit once unlocked. (Front door, back door, and garage side door). Windows and blinds also stick and are difficult to open/close.Disappointed that the description of the house on VRBO did not indicate that it was a duplex. The signs around the house warning us of noise/disturbing the neighbors and having a complaint filed made it less comfortable to just enjoy our time because we were always concerned about “laughing/talking too loud” or something similar that would cause us to lose our deposit. Knowing it was a duplex with neighbors would have been a factor in our decision to rent the house in the first place. ##### Molly K. What a great stay! The house was large enough for a party of 10\. The two dens downstairs are bedrooms - one with 3 beds and one with 1 bed. Three bedrooms upstairs each with 1, 1, and 2 beds. My bed was very squeaky but comfortable. The house was clean although the outside areas could have used a little touch-up of cleaning. The location was amazing.
