The best area to stay in La Cuesta is within the historic walled city, particularly near the Plaza Mayor. This central area is the heart of La Cuesta, featuring narrow cobbled streets, traditional Castilian architecture, and a relaxed pace of life. The Plaza Mayor itself is a beautiful, arcaded square, great for enjoying a coffee or an evening meal. Most of the town's key landmarks, including the Church of San Martín and the Arco de la Villa, are just a short walk away.Couples will find this area particularly appealing. The historic setting provides a romantic backdrop for strolls through the ancient streets and evenings spent dining at one of the many local restaurants. It's easy to explore the town's artisan shops and wine bodegas on foot from here. For those looking for a slightly quieter experience while still being central, the area just inside the city walls, a few streets back from the Plaza Mayor, offers a more residential feel.

The best time to visit La Cuesta is generally from late spring to early autumn, specifically May, June, September, and early October, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for exploring.May and June offer warm, sunny days without the intense heat of mid-summer, making it great for outdoor activities like exploring the historic town centre and walking through the vineyards. The countryside is lush and green during this period.September and early October are also excellent choices.
