Quirky hotel. Good service very clean, does not offer dinner but very good restaurants are nearby. Lots of uneven steps so not suitable for everyone. Enjoyed our stay

Such a beautiful quaint facility very close to southernmost point. Hotel was older but really charming. Fantastic views! Guys particularly loved the cigar room with fireplace!

Dear Shaun,
Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to review our property. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to host you again on any future trips to our area.
Lots to like about this hotel. Clean, comfortable, lovely views out over the Indian Ocean, beautiful lounge/bar/cigar room. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful soaking tub in the suite. Nice, small patio. It was expensive but good.
Great last minute find! Beautiful lodge boasting rooms with character. We opted for the honeymoon suite to get the jacuzzi tub and I loved relaxing in the tub while looking at the Indian Ocean! Wish our travel plans would have allowed us to stay a second night!

Dear guest,
thank you very much for your very kind words. We look forward to hosting you again, hopefully for a longer stay in the future.
Great location, friendly staff. Had the opportunity to eat in the restaurant and the food was great. on the downside they cancelled our dinner reservation the next evening as the chefs were unwell....breakfast the next morning was also then not very well presented. Overall a nice stay and a great location for long walks with beautiful scenery
We enjoyed the welcoming friendly and well informed staff.
Our room was beautiful and comfortable, however I would have preferred a firmer bed and pure cotton bed linen.
The choice of food at breakfast was comprehenive tasty and well presented, I would have liked a little marmalade but the preserves available were delectable. Our dinner on the first night was delicious! How wonderful to dine in front of a fire overlooking a stormy ocean. Once again the staff were attentive and considerate!

NO REASON TO GO BACK
Nothing worse than arriving at a place and you get the feeling that no one really wants you there because you are traveling out of season! Was expensive for what we got.
Room was large with beautiful bathroom. Watched the sunrise on the patio. Location is perfect to get to the lighthouse and the town with restaurants. Only downside is we could hear other guests coming in at night.

Well located hotel with charming staff and a nice
We had a lovely couple of nights at this hotel. We had Room 8 with a large bathroom and jetted bathtub alongside the double shower and washbasins. There was a shared balcony with views of the sea. The room was a good size with two easy chairs and a coffee table plus the normal bedroom fittings. Tea/coffee making facilities were also available.
The inclusive breakfast was freshly prepared with generous portions and very varied. An evening meal was available at an additional price and needed pre-ordering from the menu that changed daily. My husband had an excellent steak on the first night. There was a well stocked honesty bar on the first floor with lovely sea views.
I read a lot about the area before heading there and somehow got the impression is was more rustic than it is. There was a lot of building going on and many new restaurants and accommodations opening. Over all I was very surprised and happy with the lodge. It is an older build with lots of wood and cozy relaxation areas. A few areas are showing age but for me it was character. The rooms are large and well laid out. A great romantic getaway. As a bonus they have a real chef doing dinner every night for what I think is a very reasonable cost. The food was excellent. Again, candle light and table cloth. Good wine was very reasonable. So a great stay in a nice area.
A perfect room with ocean view. One of the most romantic dinners ever and surely one of the best restaurants in the country. Amazing chef. Very friendly staff. I can find nothinng wrong. A perfect place to stay and watch the magnificent Indian Ocean meet the Atlantic Ocean. Standing at the most southern point possible in Africa - there's just someting about it.
- got 2 single beds instead of double as per booking
- only shower no bath tub as per booking
- room full of smoke due to neighbours smoking on shared patio. Was told to close window and use aircon ( in summer!)
- breakfast started at 8.15, inconveniently late in summer season
- lots of mould in room
- overall overpriced
Only stayed one night - and unfortunately we arrived much later than planned. The hotel staff waited for us, which was great, but not much more I can add. Breakfast was substantial and good. Plenty of options. Great spot to get to the Agulhas Lighthouse, although you can't see it from the inn. Pretty views of the bay across the street though. Only negative was that the room had a musty odor.
We pulled into Agulhas from Cape Town in early evening. The GPS did NOT have the precise location but it was easy to find as it is on the main road. The appearance of the Agulhas Country Lodge is very appealing. The staff helped with the heavy luggage. Since we were there in their winter we think we were the only guests in the lodge the night we were there. It got down to 38F at night. The room was accommodating and the bathroom was most spacious. Despite 2 hours of "load sharing" we had candles and solar lights. The bed was comfortable. We did NOT have a view of the ocean which I would recommend getting. My wife found a live gecko in our bed so I tossed it outside after recovering from her scream. The gecko did not make a mess in the bed so no problem for me since we were very used to them from living in Panama years earlier. Breakfast was very tasty and filling. We drove to the Zuideste Kaap restaurant about 2 miles down the road for our dinner and my wife loved the place. The Lodge staff was totally professional, helpful, friendly and competent. We were glad to spend the night there and would go back without pause.
When we arrived at the hotel there was a couple who were arguing with the receptionist. They had booked the 'honeymoon' suite and had been allocated a room with twin beds. The receptionist offered them a family room as an alternative. We later heard that they accepted the family room begrudgingly. When we attempted to check in we were allocated a back room with 2 single beds. Our booking was for a double room = double bed. Despite the fact that rooms 1 & 5, both doubles, were empty at the time but allocated to guests still to arrive the receptionist would not re-allocate us. We insisted on speaking to the owner who was even more emphatic 'that is the room allocated' When we stated that we wanted what we had been confirmed we would get and had paid for he instructed the receptionist to refund our money. We left without the refund because the receptionist had to get a third party to effect the transaction and he was not immediately available. We spent the weekend in a pleasant guest house and await to receive our refund
a "MUST STAY". Though we were only at the lodge for 1 night, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, the food was wonderful, rooms clean and views from EVERY room.
Nice location and views of the ocean. The steep stairs to the upper rooms would not suit older people as there is no lift. Good hearty breakfast banquet each morning but dinner if you choose to eat in is a set menu (2 options if they don't run out of the popular choices).
Lovely people received us late afternoon. We were surprised by the amazing food served! Warm and cozy atmosphere. the rooms are neat and clean. A definite stay over if you want to have the best meal in town!

Picture better than reality
Stone outside of building lured me in. Dinner first night was fabulous. Not enough people for dinner second night. Handyman very helpful. Room had niceties but some thing fell short. Had to put water pot on floor because of short cord. Strange light switches outside of bathroom. Nice patio. Nice breakfast. Easy parking. Check out easy. Good fireplaces full of flames. No wifi in rooms.
We had a very nice room with a great ocean view from inside our room and from our patio. I am a runner and had a great run from the hotel to the southern tip of Africa marker and beyond, as the hotel is conveniently situated for that. We had a very nice dinner at the hotel as well.
The Stay was remarkable, and we wished to stay longer . The place was Flintsonesh but the rooms, the service, the food was excellent. The rooms were comfortable, with fresh air from the South Atlantic/ Indian Ocean. The Set Meal was incomparable with an Excellent four course meal, The Breakfast was outstanding. Thank you for an excellent experience. We would love to come back.
We found the management and staff very helpful. We opted to have the evening meal which was excellent.

Hotel double booked our honeymoon suite
We arrived after a long day's drive only to be told our room had been double booked through Expedia and that there were no alternative rooms available.
We stayed here for one night on our journey to Cape Agulhas and it was incredible! The manager liked my girlfriend's shirt so she upgraded our room. And it had the most luxurious bathroom we'd ever been in! The building had a living room, smoking lounge, bar and good views of the ocean. The best part for us was dinner. The menu was freshly prepared with a spinach quiche, springbok (which was one of the best things we've ever had), fresh fish and a coconut cake for desert. I wish this place was closer to us so I could go back every week.
