The room had a Japanese feel to it which made it fun to stay in. The desk people were extremely helpful and we found several restaurants in the area through their list that had great food and were not chains. The room was clean and it was convenient to have a washer and drying rack. Fresco and a grocery store within walking distance were super convenient and the bus stop was very close. I knew it was in a residential neighborhood but they did not make it clear how far it was from downtown. They recommended that we come by bus and that was economical but it was a somewhat long and rather uncomfortable bus ride. The neighborhood is quiet but a bit drab with not too much to do for tourists. Tucked away in a residential neighbourhood of Kyoto, it's actually a short bus ride to Omiya Station and to Shijo Dori, the main shopping street. It's spacious and everything is very well thought out. I loved my time here. The receptionist spoke excellent English and was very helpful. If I were back in Kyoto, Suzaku-kan would have been my choice! They are very modern yet with a touch of tradition!
