It has just been completely refurbished in 2017 to include all modern amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It has a Tatami Room, an Indoor Garden, two Western style bedroom, 2 bathrooms and toilets. There is a modern kitchen that has the original well that supplied water to the house over 100 years ago. This is a traditional Kyoto Machiya ( Kyomachiya) renovated to include modern amenities for the comfort of foreign guests. It has a living room, a tatami room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with toilets, a modern kitchen and dining area. Like traditional Machiyas, there is an indoor garden for further relaxation. Guests will have the entire house, two floors and indoor garden, for their private use. Please contact me anytime by email. We are looking forward to hearing your enquiry. It is very centrally located next to the Kamogawa river and 2 minutes from the Keihan Railway Line Shichijo Station. This is in Central Kyoto not far fromfamous attractions like Kiyomizudera and Gion.It is located on Shichijo Street with many Buses running along it. Kazuya was very helpful suggesting sights near the house and the buses/subway/train are all within easy walking distance. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to feel at home. The location threw us at first as it is on a busy street amid commercial storefronts but don't be deterred. It ended up being perfect because it is close to restaurants, markets and transportation options. It is tastefully renovated house with all brand new appliances, however it still preserves the traditional ambience. We were really impressed. We also enjoyed its location close to the hiking/biking trail along the river: kids were jogging there in the morning and in the evening we took a 15-20 min walk home from busy district.
