The history is steeped in the area and you can only imagine how the early settlers made their way. The temple and its garden are magical. The traditional Japanese room was very comfortable and finely decorated. The onsen was quite pleasant. The meals very delicate and diverse. The meditation and chanting ceremonies very moving. Finally, the monks were very welcoming. I know it’s a monastery and it is what the monks cook and eat, but come on - price for staying here has nothing to do with simplicity or modesty. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und uns wurde alles in einem persönlichen Rundgang gezeigt. Unbedingt die Meditation am Abend und die Andacht am Morgen mitmachen. Eine schöne Erfahrung.
