"Very convenient location, super close to the MTR station and shopping malls. Staff were friendly and welcoming and there's free dispensable cold water available which was great. The room was very small but it was enough for what I needed and most importantly it was clean. Only negatives is the shower could do with a lightbulb as it was very dark and other guests can be quite loud sometimes."

"This is in a great location on Kowloon. It was a bit pricier than I wanted to pay for the facilities, but it worked out really well. Good location, shockingly comfortable bed, and incredibly welcoming staff!"

"The location of hostel is convenient and easy access with bus and metro…but noisy during midnight as downstairs near to bar and even can hear the communication…no signal for TV due to external renovation "

"I've stayed at Ashoka Hostel before. If you are a budget traveler, I can't recommend this place enough. I needed a cheap place to stay while getting my visa updated last year. So I stayed here again. I stayed during the May holiday this time, which meant the price was more than $44 a night, but it was still a bargain. If you are looking for a safe place to sleep and clean up, this is it. I didn't have a refrigerator this time, but it was okay. The rooms are super-tiny. But it didn't matter to...

"It is cheap but the situation is very poor. There were two people sleeping at the upper bed and they were not tourists but hotel workers. The upper bed has many cracks that made me worry very much that they would fall upon me. Thus, I slept only a few hours per day."

"This hotel is very well located. This was my second stay. They have a food court at the basement level, which has some excellent food. Great prices as well. The staff are always helpful. We had an issue with the pillows. 1 was very soft and the other very high and firm. When my partner asked for any other solution he wasn't helped much.
I went back later in the pm and spoke to a young man who came up with a solution. I received however, 2 quilts?!!.
I then left a note for the cleaner who serviced our rooms. They changed it.
The room itself was comfortable and cleaned every day.
The only downside is the very thin door and walls. I could hear every door bang, conversation in the corridors or in the adjacent rooms. This did wake me up a few times."
"Prime location, easily access to transits. Clean room and property. Helpful and friendly staff. The hotel charges on shower caps for $5 which is quite expensive"
"Good location with local restaurant choices. Staff was friendly and property was clean. Breakfast buffet was for inconvenience, not quite worth it for the price and the choice of food."
"Well I guess you get what you pay for. The room is tiny and the bed was accessible from one side. Very old property and very tired. Was only for a couple of days on a stopover. Not much room to move around with two suitcases. Very small but does the job. The free shuttle into town was the highlight."
"We loved our stay at the Cityview! We were upgraded to a beautiful and spacious room with separate spaces for each of us (i was traveling with my son) as well as a desk/office area. The hotel was easily walkable to everything and if not, close to the metro."
Hostels are a great way to stay for a good value, so you can save your budget for fun things to do. We've heard good things about the waterfront and other attractions in this destination, as well as activities like shopping.
