We loved the lovely view from our room and the friendly and informative staff. The wild roosters and peacocks were noisy in the mornings but we found it more amusing than annoying. The continental breakfast was simple: fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, croissants, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea and the like. One hazard was the aggressive chickens stealing food from the outdoor tables; we found that it was best to have no empty chairs near the table for them to use to get on the table. This older-style hotel was a good base for exploring Kaua'i. Beach towels, chairs and umbrellas can be checked out, although there really wasn't a beach easily accessible from the hotel (twenty-five minute walk and hard to find). Overall, we wished that we had stayed longer!

Our stay was overall pleasant, but fell slightly short of expectations. We had booked an “ocean view” room anticipating a direct view of the ocean, however our room overlooked the pool and hot tub area instead. It was only upon arrival that we learned that “front ocean view” rooms are the ones that truly guarantee an ocean-facing perspective, which felt somewhat misleading at the time of booking.
The bed was comfortable enough, though not particularly memorable, and while we didn’t have the opportunity to try the on-site dining, the beach itself was nice, though fairly standard.
All in all, a decent stay, but I would recommend paying close attention to room categories to avoid any disappointment.
