The island was remote and absolutely beautiful. The beachfront bungalow was awesome but all of the units looked very nice and seemed like a proper place to stay. The staff was great, helpful, and spoke English. The food was fresh and amazing. As long as you're able to make it to the ferry at the pier before it leaves at 1pm no traveler should have any problem staying there. Great beach with free snorkeling and fishing (other activities available for a surcharge). The bar is right next to the wonderful infinity pool that looks over the beach and there is a pool table as well which is great for the evening time. Very moderately priced and pictures don't do it justice. Absolutely beautiful. Only a 3 hour van ride from Bangkok and it truly is paradise. This is a truly unique hotel in the positive sense. Unfortunately, some problems that could easily be fixed by a more attentive management reduce the overall impression. This is a shame, as the location and concept is absolutely unique. The great: - Great pool with beanbags and sun chairs (sun chairs need an upgrade) - Wonderful beaches with multiple bamboo huts that give shadow, and "rocking swings" to sit on under trees - Very tasty food and helpful staff - Free snorkling equipment The bad: - Despite the high prices this is a 2 star hotel (in a 5 star location). I think this is not an issue, as long as you are aware of this fact. - Internet connection (only a mobile 3G router shared by all guests) is extremely slow. - But the really major disappointment is all the garbage on the island. The hotel grounds are kept VERY clean, but only 30 meters from the restaurant is a garbage dump with a huge amount of garbage (seems to be collected for years). Also the footpath around the island have a huge amount of garbage thrown out in the nature. Overall, this is a basic hotel that gives an exceptional and unique castaway Robinson Crusoe experience. Absolutely fantastic beaches, plus great food, service and pool. But there is no excuse for all the garbage around the complete island. Hotellet har en restaurang där vi intog alla dagens måltider. Tyvärr var matens kvalitet mycket dålig. Kycklingen var stenhård, seg och full med brosk. Mycket på menyn gick inte att beställa. Det tog en timma att få en kycklingtoast serverad. Nästan all mat på frukosten var kall, dvs kall rostad potatis och kallt bacon, kall korv osv, vilket tyvärr smakade riktigt dåligt. Personalen var trevlig men väldigt glömsk och långsam med servicen. Sängarna och kuddarna var stenhårda så räkna inte med en god natts sömn. Vi sov tyvärr inte någonting. Sängkläderna var därutöver fulla med gula fläckar, vilket vi upplevde som otrevligt. Rummen har dock AC och ligger väldigt fint vid stranden. This is a great place for family trip and couple! Lots of space in the beach and privacy. Sea water is crystal clear and clean (just have to watch out broken glasses by the beach). The scenery is splendid for photo taking! The service from the hotel is fabulous and staffs are very friendly.
