So relaxing and the gardens are beautiful. The staff was hospitable and explained our dinner and breakfast patiently. The area is in a quiet little town and a couple vineyards that allow you to taste a small collection and bring wine back to your room. We were absolutely stunned when we arrived not only by the beauty of the surrounding area but the building itself. The property is large and has tons of beautiful gardens and ponds to enjoy while you stay. The food is also absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. We really appreciated the staff and their service while we were there. The kaiseki meal at dinner was fabulous, too! Weʻve stayed at so many ryokan in Japan (we live here!) and this one rates among the top. Very unique. Their traditional Japanese breakfast and Kaiseki dinners are second to none. Indoor and outdoor baths are impeccably kep clean and relaxing. The building shows some age but it is kep ultra clean. Isawa is a small town surrounded by mountains near Mount Fuji. The private onsen was perfect for the family. The area was quiet so there wasn’t much to do but stay in the room and relax. The food was amazing and it seemed like it wasn’t enough, which is not true. We were full at the end of every meal and so were the kids.
